Hard time finding a wedding dress

Blair, on November 23, 2019 at 6:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
I keep finding dresses I like but none I love. I tried on another today that I liked but I didn’t have that “this is the one” feeling

Some brides don't have that 'omg, this is my dress!' moment. Depending on your personality, you may just not get that emotional, and that's ok too! The most important part is to find a dress that makes you feel beautiful. That one looks amazing on you! Try on a few more, see if there are any that you just keep coming back to. That's how I knew mine - no other dress compared. Breathe and remember you have time to find a dress you really like.

You’re right! I watch so many say yes to the dress episodes I might just be living in a fairytale land thinking I’ll have the same emotions. Thanks for the advice

Finally liking a dress is still reason enough to get it. Waiting on the whole “love” and emotions over a dress will have you looking forever. Finding “the one” is overrated because I guarantee there’s more than just one single dress out there that you’d like/love. I feel that my dress is perfect for what I wanted. But if something happened to my wedding dress tomorrow, I’d be able to find another “one” without a problem!! Lol 😍

There are so many dresses out there that it's easy to get overwhelmed! If you love it, if it makes you feel gorgeous, that should be enough. Honestly, I agree with Sexypoodle - it's really easy to love a lot of dresses. What's important is you pick one that you really like and enjoy wearing.

That's pretty. I agree with PP in some brides don't get that feeling. Some brides over time come to love their gown also. For me I overtime really loved mine. I def had dress envy though.

Unfortunately, there isn't always that feeling portrayed on TV and in movies! I thought I'd feel it how brides do on Say Yes to The Dress. My experience was far from that! I was literally like, "hey - I really like this dress. I'll take it!"

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself trying to find your dress! Keep looking, and I'm sure you'll find something you love 100% Smiley smile

I definitely wasn't bowled over like they are on Say Yes to the Dress (although I do love that show!) I really like my dress and compared to the others I tried on I liked it the best, but I wasn't crying or gushing over it! I also didn't want to go dress shopping multiple times to see if I could "beat" the dress that I picked. You look great in this dress (as I imagine you look great in a lot of dresses) and I wish you luck in your search!

I just found my dress yesterday! I didn't cry at all like some other brides do. What I did feel was excitement, comfort (it was easy to move!), big smiles, and it just felt right. I could imagine myself getting married in it, it flattered my body. All the other ones yesterday were pretty but it didn't feel "right", I kept wanting the other one. My very first appointment at another shop (David's Bridal), I didn't really like any of them. Maybe one or two I wondered about and kept asking myself if I liked it but there were some unflattering parts where it didn't really make me look good lol.

Right! I don't want to settle for a dress. So many women on here talk about dress regret. I'm not about to spend thousands on a dress I don't love.

Lol, my only SLIGHT regret is going over my budget I was trying to stick to! My mom wanted to pay for my dress and make sure it was something I loved so she didn't care TOO much about the price. She even had me try on more expensive ones but I didn't feel it. It didn't help when I went on StillWhite to try to find it for much cheaper but it didn't factor alterations, taxes, shipping, dry cleaning, etc.

When I saw my sisters and mom's reactions and they all agreed it looked like "me" and they really liked it, it helped also. I tried on the beautiful super expensive dresses they even wanted me to try and they kind of didn't pay attention to it as much as the other LOL!
