Is anyone else hand delivering some/all of your wedding invitations? For all of the ones that work with either NiseyyD or myself we are hand delivering them and it's been interesting in the different reactions I've gotten so far. I've dropped off 7 today and heard from 4 of them. Two were extremely excited to get them and then the other two IM'd me and said "so I see I'm not worth a stamp". Obviously they were teasing (and that's EXACTLY what I would say) and had no issues but I thought it was funny.

I honestly wish I could hand deliver 90% of them but sadly that's not even remotely possible, but it was nice to be able to hand a few to some people and I'd encourage it if you have the chance.

Yes, I hand deliver most of mines but they weren't that many because most of our friends were already aware of our wedding website so they all just went there to rsvp, out of 150 guests, we only ordered 40 invites. I just dropped one off at a friend's class, she was actually teaching, so I went to her classroom and handed it to her.

The rest of them are all church members and close family that we see every saturday at church so it was very easy and made much sense to hand deliver them. We've only mailed out about 5 invites, they were all out of town though. No complaints from anyone so far, everyone's happy.

It's funny the way people react to the dumbest things. We had a guy in our office hand deliver all of our invites, which I thought was smart since it saves money, but a lot of people took offense at it and thought it was tacky. I think that is ridiculous so I will be hand carrying my work and family invites. I could give a flying fig what people I work with think about it; if they don't like it then they certainly do not need to come to my wedding (most of them are obligation invites anyways). I do not see the purpose in paying for extra postage when I see these people all the time.

We were only able to hand deliver a few because of our distance from home, family, and most friends, but I love the personal touch of being able to do so.

I am hand deliver most of my invites. Our guest lives by us. I just think it's too fashionable to actually spend money on stamps when you see each other every basis. If I had out of towners then yes of course I would deliver

My co-workers got onto me for mailing their invites and wasting stamps. Any way you can save money, I say go for it.

We'll likely be hand delivering our STD's for the most part, since we'll be with a majority of our family (which makes up more than half our guests) for the holidays. I love the idea of hand delivering the actual invites, it makes it so much more personal, if you can do it. I like how you say the reactions are good to see and I bet you are getting a lot more response than you would had you just sent it in the mail.

When we were asking for addresses for the STDs some guests were asking us not to go thru that trouble and spending extra money, instead THEY asked us to just hand deliver them, so we did. Job people and family members at least

I was actually thinking of hand delivering some of our invitations.. (thank you for the posting)..

I know that most of our invites are in town and it would be a great way for FH and I to get out of the house one afternoon!

The rest I will be mailing off to different states and to mexico..

I can't wait to see the reactions I get.. My mom said I should get a old wedding dress from the thirftstore and wear it when I deliver them! LOL

Great to see this thread. I guess the tradition in Italy is that invitations are hand delivered with confetti (what we would call jordan almonds). When FH and I go back at Christmas we are going around and hand delivering invitations to his family and friends. For my guest here in the states the good of US postal service will have to do.

I hand delivered to the ones I see on a weekly basis. Well actually they kind of made me hand deliver because they said " Why waste a stamp, just give it to me!! " Lol so that made me feel better ...

I hand delivered my std's to my co-workers and those family members I see often. One co-worker told me, jokingly, she wanted to receive hers in the mail. I told her it was going to be hand delivered so consider it a special delivery. LOL

I am going to do that. Especially to those who are helping us out. They are helping us, the least I can do is hand deliver.

I didn't even think to hand deliver the local invitations. I might have to look into doing this .If I was a guest I would rather get it hand delivery. I won't have to worry about snail mail.
