Halloween wedding

Louisa, on October 5, 2018 at 8:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
We are having a Halloween wedding in 2020 and have been debating whether to invite our guests to come dressed up in costume or just regular wedding attire. Any thoughts or suggestions on the route I should go??

I would hate to have to wear a costume personally.

This sounds so fun! You could say that costumes are welcomed. That was people can choose whether they want to dress up or not.

If you are on the fence, perhaps some costume props be allowed in the store, like a humble bee head band or phantom of the opera mask, etc.

I'd invite people to dress up in costume if they'd like to, but I certainly wouldn't insist on it. Some people are not going to be comfortable in costume.

I agree — invite but don’t insist! And I like Pp’s idea of having halloween props.

I think if it's on Halloween why not be in costume?

Just keep in mind the formality you’re going for if you do this. You can certainly invite people to dress up in costume, but that might mean someone shows up in pajamas.

The best wedding I've ever been to was a Halloween wedding. They had it 1920s themed and encouraged everyone to dress up in costumes to fit the theme. If you don't want everyone to look mismatched, you could pick a costume theme, too. But I'm sure it'll be super fun no matter what people wear!

Thank you everyone. We are going nightmare before Christmas themed, I think we will do the feel free to wear a costume idea. Since getting married on the BB Riverboat we couldn't have them change before reception so did not know what I felt etc. Thanks for the help!!
