Halloween wedding

Chesney, on May 18, 2017 at 12:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hey everyone! I am having a Halloween themed wedding in October and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for decorations, or just about any good creative ideas? I am not the most creative person and I need help!

So your wedding is on a Tuesday night? How many guests are you having? I would avoid any Halloween decorations, to be honest.

Do you want it to be blatantly Halloween- black and orange all over? Or, subtle touches like white or spray painted pumpkins?

Keep it to the colors of the season. Doing a holiday theme in a wedding to me can go over board really fast.

I want it to be more skulls and skeletons and stuff. I don't want too many pumpkins and I don't want ghost or stuff like that lol! Smiley smile I guess more of a gothic theme is sort of what I am going for. Yes it is on 10/27 Smiley smile

Less is more. I'm planning for a Halloween/Addams Family aesthetic for our wedding and trust me when I say less is more.

Color palettes will do wonders for your Halloween vibe. I'm not saying go black, neon green, and purple; but you can definitely lurk around Pinterest and Google to find dark-leaning color palettes that you can build off of.

My cousin had an October wedding. One of the pre-wedding events the night before was pumpkin carving. Then they lit them all during the evening reception. Very cool to see so many jackolanterns lit in a line. Some went traditional and others very elaborate wedding themes.

Cool theme! Skulls on a stack of old books, black lace, votives, roses...dark colors like merlot and plum. Check out offbeat bride or rocknroll bride. I would google neo victorian gothic wedding stuff too. You could do those manzanita branch trees but painted black or silver with same color glitter and dangle spiders or cobwebs (or neither). Good luck!

There are aster flowers that are white with black centers. I like the jack o'lantern idea some have mentioned.

@kate those all look like they were planned just right! Not over the top, but still get the point. I'd follow that type of decor!

As long as you manage to avoid death, horror, or blood/gore, I think it would be lovely.

Ours is on Halloween but we decided against the Halloween decorations. We are doing purple orange and black are the colors. orange pumpkin table numbers and pumpkins lining the aisle. That's it. Oh and FH "black on black on black" suits (as he calls it) with a purple tie.

I am big on this orange, Marcella, and brown right now but that could change.

I am getting married on the 28th of October. But we are just sticking to black and gold and some white pumpkins. But I think it would be cute, if you're really going Halloween theme to have skeletons dressed as a bride and groom with a cute sign
