I'd start out with a budget & tentative guest list, then time of year. Once you have those, start looking for venues in your budget. After you have the venue, other vendors will come easier!

Definitely start by setting a budget. Look at venues that fit within your budget and contact them to schedule tours or ask for package information. Once you have a venue and a set date, look at the WW checklist. It is very helpful.

I would start a pinterest board and look for ideas and often there are blogs of how to do cost effective weddings. You can even look at wedding dresses and hair styles there. As other pp's have said figure your your budget with your FH and decide which are the items you are willing to spend more on (photography, venue, etc...) and those that are not that important. I would also decide based on your budget how many people you can afford to have. Start looking up venues and photography as those can book fast.

Congrats and welcome, Rachel! 1) set a budget, 2) estimate your guest list, 3) choose a venue/and a theme. If you want a specific theme it really helps to decide that first because you'll see better which venue is a better match. Are you interested in a gothic Halloween wedding? A castle might be the sexy and creepy. Disney's Haunted Mansion? An estate or historic house would be cool. A masquerade? A ballroom could be epic.

How fun! Agree with PP about budget, guest list, and venue being top priorities. We got married November 1st, so our rehearsal dinner was on Halloween. We ordered a blood spattered cake with a Halloween cake topper! Halloween wedding 1

Halloween wedding here too! Also our names are similar (mine's Rachelle lol). Echoing everyone else on starting with a general idea of your budget and guest list. And definitely start looking at venues.

I'd also consider, are you doing things more traditional? All out Halloween wedding?

Well I see your planned date is in 2021 which is good! The perk of that is you can hit Halloween clearance sales for decor.
