Hairpieces - Worth it from the bridal salon or do i go for a less expensive option?

Marge, on May 14, 2021 at 12:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hi brides! This is my first time posting but I frequently search the site for advice.

Ok, so, the hairpiece (or is it headpiece?) they put on me when I said yes to my dress was a little expensive, but not out of my budget. I am typically one to shop sales and I'm always looking for a good deal.

Do you think it's worth it to buy the more expensive one? Or will one from Etsy, Amazon, or Claire's look the same in person and in pictures?

Thanks in advance for your help!

They have great stuff on Amazon for way cheaper than the bridal salons. The veil I tried on at the bridal salon was $300. I found a veil that looked identical on Amazon for $30. I bought the $30 one. I also got these gorgeous hair vines that my stylist braided into my hair for like $15.

I can't believe how much they charge for veils at the bridal salons. Great Amazon find!

I would skip the salon headpiece unless you really can't find something like it for cheaper. There are a lot of great cheap finds on Etsy, Amazon, and many more places online. No one can tell from pictures how much you paid unless you buy something that is of visibly poor quality. Then, even if you did pay a lot, they will assume it was a cheap knockoff.

I spent the money on a headpiece at Davids and I dont think I really need it. I bought it before even thinking of what my hair would look like! You can definitely get much nicer ones elsewhere if it's something you want. I would definitely check out etsy.

    Definitely go Etsy!

You would think the hair combs at bridal salons are made of real precious metals and gemstones for what they cost. You can literally buy little $3 picks/pins at Michaels that look the exact same as a bridal hair pin.

Etsy has great stuff at reasonable prices. Amazon and resale sites like Poshmark and Mercari also have some great options.

I personally think Amazon, etsy, small businesses are just as nice as bridal stores without the hefty price tag. Just do your research and read the reviews!

Etsy is awesome! Brides here give veils from Bridals by Teri and Blanca Veils a thumbs up. Etsy has many amazing hair and jewelry accessories.

A lot of people say the ones they get from Amazon, Etsy, even aliexpress are basically the same thing. Since you're unsure I would try amazon first rather than etsy - Amazon usually has free and easy returns, whereas Etsy usually does not allow returns or it's a hassle.
