Had the worst wedding dress shopping experience *vent*

I don't wish this upon anyone! I went dress shopping this Saturday and the place we went was awful! First off they gave my MOH shit cause we had "too many people" even though I called ahead and they said the amount I had was fine. Then the consultant made me feel bad because I am looking at dresses last minute... my wedding is in May...? They wouldn't let me look through the dresses and told me that most there were out of my price range (even though I didn't give a range) and then said if I was looking at the same dresses in New York I would be paying triple the amount so consider myself lucky. To top it all off, at dinner our waitress overheard me talking about it and told me she used to work in the shop and the owner is just a fraud who only cares about the sale and upcharges out the ass. Also, her so called "designs", she didn't even make them. Ugh cant wait to write a review today. rant over.

    Wow, sorry you had to go through this! I agree, be as factual and emotionless in your review and review in Yelp, WW, TK, google, etc.

    @robyn oh yeah no way in hell was I going to give her any business. we all pretty much ran out of there as soon as I could get the last dress off. I should post the pictures of my face when I had a dress on... not a happy camper.

    I hope you have a better experience next time. I can't believe they said, "well if you were in NYC, this would cost triple so you're lucky!" How does that factor in?

    Sorry to hear that. I would say that this is pretty late to start looking for a dress for a May wedding, though, depending on the store.

    Well if this happened in Poland, where I'm from, I would have kicked her sss and not get sued. Sorry this happened to you. Hope it doesn't put a damper on this wonderful journey .

    I am so sorry, OP. Nobody should ever be treated this way especially when dress shopping. How rude of her to assume you could not afford her gowns. (I probably would have walked out at that point). I would write an honest review with fact so other brides have information not emotion to go on when they look up this awful place....Again, so sorry you went through this.

    Nine months out is last minute? Sounds like someone was going for the sale via scare tactic. They probably also said their dresses were "out of your price range" to try and get you to up your budget so you "could" purchase one of "their" dresses. How awful!

    I'm glad to hear you're going to leave a review. I'm so sorry you had such an awful experience there. Hopefully, your review will deter others from wasting their time there.

    Jay, depends on the store. Kleinfeld's and other stores (David's Bridal) ask you to come in around at least 10 months in advance. (Kleinfeld says 8-10, unless you need a custom, which is longer)

    Yeah that sounds pretty bad. that review will do the trick , companies HATE bad reviews. They really should feel awful

    That is crazy they told you that you were last minute. I am getting married in June and do not plan on purchasing until end of Sept or beginning of Oct and all the shops I have been to have said that is fine.

    Sorry you had that experience, I hope you have a better one at your next place.
