Guest wearing special colors

I would either dress in the colors I like that are formal/ informal styles as needed. Or stay home because I find it irritating for hosts to ask you to jump through hoops in order to attend a wedding. As long as I am well dressed, and the appropriate formality for the occasion, particular styles and colors are my choice. And this is the reason that in traditional etiquette, it is considered rude for a party host to dictate any aspect of a dress code, except indicating the level of formality, any safety considerations ( like no heels on boat decks) , or restrictions places by the venue ( like houses of worship that do not allow bare gowns.). Adults are capable of choosing their own clothes. Wedding hosts are not casting a movie and doing wardrobe. Unless you are paying them as models, or actors, by the hour, you don't choose other people's clothes. Only BM and GM attire is picked by the couple. Never family. Even mom or dad in ceremony do their own choosing. And never dictate to guests at a wedding.
