Hey Ya'll

I had mentioned before my husband and I are going to a good friend's wedding next weekend and I ordered a dress off Poshmark since they are generally quicker with shipping then most websites. Well, of course this time the dress isn't even remotely close to described. I ordered a dark grey and I got a pale blush dress. Is it too close to white to wear as a guest? I'm nervous because it's outdoors and I have darker skin. I don't want the color of the dress to get blown out in pictures and look like I'm the jerk who thought it'd be fun to wear a long white dress. I don't want to bother the bride since they're on a super crunched timeline and my stupid questions are the last thing they need. Thoughts?

Too similar to white?cfb_1260767.jpg

I wouldn't mind if someone wore that to my wedding. But, I'd ask the bride just to be safe.

She shouldnt have to ask the bride , as long as its nice attire and dressy . If thats the case then everyone would have to ask all of us brides if there outfits were ok and that would take forever... that dress is a nice dress enough to where she doesnt need to ask ...the cleavage part is only thing id be concerned with but thats me lol

Update: My husband nudged me (a lot...) to text her. She texted back with, ""It's chill. If you like it so do I." :-/ What does that mean? Is there subtext I'm too socially awkward to understand?

If she’s not wearing a traditional wedding gown (no bridal party, texted invites are the kinds of things that would lead me to believe she might be a little more casual), it might be pretty similar to her dress.

She sounds great! Personally, if both you gals could go either way, let your hubby decide. Besides, I think most men like to 'solve' their wife's 'problems', right...haha?

I think she is telling you to wear it. If she has a comment later, you can tell her: "You said it was chill!"

It looks yellow to me. Wear it.

I would try my best to find another color, looks too close to white and even though it's not white, the bride should be the one to stand out more.

I love Posh!!!! I have gotten so many wedding-related things from there!!! What's your user?

As for the dress, I ended up with a dress or two in that color for my own wedding-related things, and I opted to not wear any of them to my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago. I feel that these days not only are a lot of bridesmaids wearing blush, but even handsful of brides here and there are opting for blush or nude. I know I had a different gown that was champagne and incredibly close to being blush. That's just me, though, and I was trying to go above and beyond with the whole "not upstaging the bride" thing, since it's two weddings within a month for the same family.

They aren't having any wedding party so I don't need to worry about looking like or matching any bridesmaids.

In this photo it looks yellow and I think you'll be fine. Either way it doesn't appear white and your safe!

To me it also looks like a yellowish color. I personally wouldn’t think anything of it or mind if someone wore it to my wedding. But if you’re still unsure you may feel more comfortable just wearing another dress

Way too much thought into it. If it’s BLUSH then it’s not white. You’re fine.

I should have that tattooed across my forehead “Thinks way too much” thanks though. It’s definitely peachy and I’m going to pair it with a cute vest, long necklace, and maybe a lace bandeau (the ladies need a lift).
