Guest Count/confirmation

How are you brides confirming your guest list? Are you being stern and making sure they tell you yay or nay or do you have a different strategy? I just think guests don’t care about the money we spend to feed them lol..

We don’t plan on sending out invites bc we did for our previous date in which we changed to this current date. So we plan on just sending out save the date cards. We plan on having kids bc we don’t want that to be the reason they say they can’t come.

The only time you need to reach out to confirm is when you are tallying the final count ~4 weeks before the wedding. It doesn't need to be addressed this early.

I don't think you'd need to re-confirm the attendance of people who RSVP-ed yes. That's what RSVP-ing is for! But if they're not sending in their RSVPs to begin with, then that's a different story...

Well did it early just to get a count when it comes to calculating up food and beverage. But we will be doing the final head count at the end of Feb.

This is not a final head count. So we will be doing the actual RSVP/confirmed head count... My only issue is having ppl confirm they are coming and don’t and we have wasted money.

We Had To To Reach Out To Those People Who Didnt RSVP. I Had A Whole Table RSVP Yes And Not Show Up. Very Annoying Since That Was Money Wasted

We reached out to those who had not responded.

Some people genuinely forgot, others refused to speak with us (my family threw Drama). If they didn't respond, it was a no, and we made it clear.

I think it’s so disrespectful that ppl don’t respond, just plan rude. But if no response than no plate. Save money.

My husband and I gave an rsvp date of January 15th for our wedding, but gave our guests until January 20th to get them in before we started reaching out to those we hadn't heard from. We knew that we would have a few guests not put their RSVP's in the mail until the due date, so that's why we did it. After that, we decided to have a table dedicated to those who did not RSVP but showed up anyway. The escort cards we made for them were a joke that said "I didn't RSVP but showed up anyway" and then had the table number on it. We had the extra space in the ballroom to do it, and had the plan of if no one showed up to fill that table, we'd use it as our extra dessert table; which is what we ended up doing.

Oh wow that’s funny!! But you didn’t have to pay for them so if they would’ve showed up they wouldn’t have been able to eat which is on them.

We did. We paid for an additional 8 people's meals. It wasn't that big of deal for us b/c we didn't do a sit-down dinner. We did a buffet so paying for the extra 8 wasn't that expensive. Our caterer boxed up the leftovers nicely for us and we took it back to the resort we stayed at the night of our wedding. My husband and our close friends (who were also staying at the resort), ate the leftovers while they were hanging out in our villa after the wedding.

Oh ok well that’s good. We’re not sure if we’re able to box up leftovers. That’ll be a question we have to ask at our next meeting.

    Eh.
Some people think they did, some people forget, some people have weird schedules or hard to predict schedules...

And then some people stop talking to you because your invitations didn't include your mother's name.
    Some are forgivable, some not...

Oh wow... I don’t think I want to send out any RSVPs. I rather reach out to you and ask.

Wait, your wedding isn't until March 2021. It's WAAAAAAY too early to even have sent invitations, let alone asking your guests for RSVPs.
