Guest book: Yes or no?

I’ve seen SO many unique ways of doing a ‘guest book’ over the last couple of years. I also, embarrassingly, almost always forget to sign them…. What kind of ‘guest book’ are you having?

We are most likely going to do the photobooth album, where they can get a strip, and the other strip goes into a guest book that they sign. My dad and FH both want the photobooth, so I figured we can do that and people might actually sign since the photobooth person will direct them to!

We had one of those trees from Etsy that guests could sign and then later hang in our home. I was so excited about it!

Unfortunately though, I think our guests (being more of an older crowd), didn't know to sign it. Even after the DJ had to make an announcement, not many signed. I'm sad, my tree is bare!

I think in our case, people didn't know of anything outside of the typical guest book. In hindsight, I wish I had gone that route.

Mine was just like the one in the OP, only shaped like a mason jar. I really like it only I did have problems with people not signing it. I have actually been tempted to send little hearts in the mail to people and ask them to sign them. My SIL/BM didn't sign it and neither did my dad. I think I'm going to have my dad sign it at some point but I really don't care that much about SIL.

We are doing what the OP has a picture of. Only our guest list is much smaller so our frame is smaller. The hearts are a grey color and then the large heart have our initials and the date. Everyone will sign a heart and drop it in the frame.

I also have a cute little sign/poem to let people know what to do:

    Take a Heart

    Sign Your Name

    Put it in

    The Picture Frame

My incredibly talented FMIL is making us a signature quilt! It will be displayed on a table with fabric pens for our guests to sign.

We are doing the photobooth scrapbook/album as well, so our guests can write us a message and we'll have a cute picture to remember them at our special day, too!

I am gonna be getting colourful coordinating cardstock rectangles that fit into scrapbook sleeves (I think they are like 2"x3") which also fit new polaroids. So people can just sign their names, leave advice, whatever they like and we will use it as a coffee table book. I was also thinking of printing any candid pics people put up on social media, so it will end up being a more casual album to go with our professional stuff.

As part of our 'unity box', we're having guests write notes to us to put in. I figure we'll have it out before the ceremony, and put it back out afterward for people who didn't understand it until it was explained by our officiant.

Just created mine on shutterfly and love it! Had a free 8x8 hard cover coupon from Joanne fabrics (free one from WW expired). I probably wouldn't bother spending a lot of money on one, but since I just got my e-pics back and had the couple what the hell

I have to add that o originally wanted a wooden one like a plaque to hang or a garden bench but we have limited space and since it's a keepsake, I didn't want something big that we had to drag around the rest of our lives. Love the ideas but we are very limited and since we don't know what the future holds house wise, a book seemed easier.

I like the signature idea on the mat. This is a fun idea with a sketch of you both. We have a sketch and love it. http://www.mydreamlines.com/other-products/wedding-guest-book-idea/

We're getting 2 custom Mets jerseys for people to sign. We're going to put our date on them and either our first names or just put our last name on them. We're incorporating the Mets into our wedding so we wanted the guest book to go along with it. We will also have a photobooth guestbook that came with the DJ/photobooth package.
