Guest attire - Mountain wedding

Amber, on January 22, 2021 at 9:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
We are hosting our wedding ceremony 15 guests) at Mount Rainier National Park in August.

There will be a hike (likely 1 mile or less) out to our ceremony site. Guests are looking for guidance on attire... and I’m a little clueless about what to say.
I don’t have a particular vision for their attire.
Thoughts? Ideas?

If you do not have any particular vision for guest attire, I would just tell them to wear what is best/most comfortable for them to make the hike in

Mt Rainier in August is a bit chilly. Definitely have sneakers to walk around. Semiformal leaning toward casual.

I would make sure they knew they were hiking for sure. No one will likely be wearing heels and the clothing will probably not be very formal.
If you’re aiming for one of those gorgeous photo shoots with everyone dressed up in the woods or on a mountain, people would probably bring nice clothes in a backpack and change there.

Since you don't have a vision already about their attire (this is a good thing!), then I would just assure everyone you want them to be comfortable for the hike and the weather. If any are traveling from out of town, go ahead and give them guidance about typical weather at that altitude in that season. But otherwise, trust your guests to know how to dress; this is one thing you don't need to try to manage or worry about.
