Groomsmen's tuxedo prices/stores?

Jessica, on April 9, 2012 at 2:15 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

I'm having trouble finding an inexpensive tuxedo rental/purchase for the groomsmen. I've looked at Men's Wearhouse and can't find any for under 150.00 :/

Any suggestions??

What about getting suits that your FH and the GMs can keep? I'm looking at putting one together for the guys from JCPenney, and at least for the $100-150, they get to keep the suit.

MW has some kind of discount with bridal shows or David's Bridal, because I went to make reservations and the tux rentals are $105 + tax. That's another suggestion.

We ordered from Men's Warehouse. FH chose the new Vera Wang tux and with the 30% discount are guys are looking at spending $176 and that doesn't include the shoes (we are doing our own). Not much help sorry Smiley sad

Sorry FH fell for a lovely striped number with apparently the latest in mens fashion for ties/vests so ours are $175 a piece and we picked up the tab on $25/tux. This was to keep the price at the $150/ tux that FH paid in other weddings he was in, I kind of think about $150 is standard.

I'm in the same boat. We went to Men's Wearhouse on Saturday and the suits we chose are going to cost $169, which is including tax. We think it's kind of pricey so we might go back and change them.

Thanks everyone!! ..i didnt realize that was normal.. it just seems so crazy to me that places make you pay 150+ for wearing something for like 5 hours! Haha

I am having a hard time with this as well... I want all the men to wear linen suits. MW doesn't rent linen, only sell, so we were looking at well over $200 a suit. My MI works at JCPenney and can get us the separates with a discount so I'm trying to push my FH to do that... but hes being difficult!

We have not started looking but I know there are formals on Harwin and their is a men's store there (K&G?) It might be worth the time to go down and check them out, if you live close enough.

We are also doing Mne's warehouse- it's just easiest when none of the GM or my FH is currently living in teh state we are getting married in. They can get fitted at any store and we pick them up at the store closest to our location.

The ones we picked are $130 ish. They had the same style but double breasted for $99- I was a little annoyed the single breasted was $30 more. We are making them pay the $20 deposit but then FFIL is paying for the rest.

Though i honestly think if the girls have to pay $150 for a dress they will never wear again the boys can to.

We're getting FH's tux at a local bridal shop that contracts thru Jims Formal Wear-- a national rental company I guess. He's wearing a gorgeous Calvin Klein and we are paying $135 I think? Hard to tell in the pic, but it's chocolate colored. This pic is pretty old, so they no longer have that vest or tie. He will be wearing a brown/tan/black paisley tie...~ Heavy sigh! He's going to be so handsome! Can't wait to see him!

Mens warehouse for all our guys. It was $140 for tux, vest, tie, 2 shirts, and shoes. That was with the $40 off each tux. Not terrible since my girls spent $230 on their dresses.

Try an actual bridal store. see what deal they will provide if all of your men in need of tux gets theirs at the same place. Our bridal shop gave us the groom tux FREE w/the rest of the bridal party purchasing their tux there also. & he chose a tux that was $98. The discount goes up based on the number of folks purchasing.
