Groomsmen haven't got fitted

Charla, on March 14, 2015 at 12:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

I just left Men's Warehouse. We desided to change the dads tie colors to match the moms dresses rather than the BMs. On a whim I asked to confirm that everything is good to go..... Good thing I did. 3 out of FHs 6 groomsmen still haven't gone to get fitted. The wedding's in 2 weeks!!!! 2 weeks!!! I'm terrified they won't be able to get them in time. UGH! MEN!

I believe they can get them in time but may not get a perfect fit (will depend what is still available) and have to pay rush order. I'd tell them to get their butts over there ASAP (well, have your FI do that).

May 1st is the cutoff MW gave us for our wedding. Anything after that they can still do it but there is a rush fee. Extra money out of pocket should be an incentive for them.

They need to go in this weekend. No joke. I used to work in a bridal shop and we handled several tux companies. They need to order right now, or the correct style and sizes might not be available.

Let them know that they will be paying a late/rush fee!! We're going through MW, too and I'm pretty sure that the brochure said that it was a $20 rush fee for fittings done within 2 weeks of the wedding.

...and here I was freaking out, because MW told us to have all the fittings done within a month of setting everything up, and that was almost 4 months ago!

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'll tell FH to let them know about the rush charge. Maybe that will get them to get off their asses.

I felt the same panic last night, Charla! I checked up on who turned in their measurements after I realized our cutoff date is April 8th. Only 1 of my FH's GM, out of 5, have turned in their measurements. Since they all live in different states, I decided to make a flyer with all the info and sent it via mail. I also included the measurements form. Their rentals are $150, so I pretty sure they don't want to pay the rush fee.

    Hand holding. Gotta love it.

They should be able to go this week. They will be charged a rush fee since it's 2 weeks before the wedding. I made sure to ask when our groomsmen got fitted at MW last year. Also, FH said whoever doesn't get fitted won't be in the wedding. That lit a fire under their butts. Lol

I used to work there. They could go the week of and still get what they need. Only time it's ever am issue is during portion season and the height of that is not until may. They will just have a rush fee added if it's less then two weeks out.

Our MW gave us the cutoff of 2 weeks before the wedding and pick up date was 3 days before. It made me super nervous so we told all the guys to have it done by the month before and I used the app from MW to track the guys, just in case others on the thread have not tried the app. It's super helpful when it comes to tracking fitting and pick ups. Hope your GM get their crap together and get fitted!

We used the MW app to keep track of our GM. All of them have gone to be fitted except for the two kids who will be going in April. If your GM are this late getting their tuxes I'm hoping you've checked on your BMs to make sure they have their dresses...

I was at MW over the weekend they said there would be a $20 if sized 2 weeks or less to the wedding. But they would still have suits in stock. I dont think you will have a problem but try to get them in as soon as possible :-)

With the threat of an additional charge all the guys got off their asses this weekend and were fitted. This was one of the very few tasks on FH to do list. Get his groomsmen fitted and manage the hotel block. To them they still had time..... UGH.

My last bridesmaid got her dress in November.... they all had flights booked and girls who have never met each other began emailing one another to share hotel rooms. It's just the groomsmen who need their hands held.
