So my fiancé (groom) only brother (groomsmen) just dropped out of wedding 9 days before the wedding. The frustrating thing about this isn’t a missing groomsmen, it’s the lack of a man coming forward at the very beginning saying they wouldn’t be able to partake instead of accepting to be a groomsmen. Along with that frustration is the fact that my soon to be brother in law and his family aren’t coming to the wedding in general with no reasonable explanation. I’m trying to process this and be supportive for my fiancé and his feelings.

I'm sorry you're both going through this right now. This seems like a very odd thing for a sibling to do at the last minute. I hope it works out!

I’m really sorry to read about this. I can completely see how this situation has left you feeling frustrated, especially with your wedding date being so close.
It’s really disappointing that your FBIL and family won’t be attending the wedding, however, I always encourage couples in situations like this to focus on the people who will be there.
If someone doesn’t want to come to your wedding, it sucks (especially when they give no reason). Anyone who goes to the effort to come to your wedding clearly loves you both. Focus on all these family/friends.
All you can do is make sure your FS feels supported (which you are already doing)

So the crazy thing happened on wedding day! Brother in law shows up in a rented tux but in a navy (not color of groomsmen) and the wife shows up in a navy dress. Because the wife wasn’t a bridesmaid the brother drops out of wedding... overall my wedding day was perfect!
