Groom and Groomsmen- same or different tuxes?

Yes, but I would go with the same style, i.e. tails, no tails, etc.

IMO thats to different of tuxes to go together, but I do understand the different part. Our groomsmen are wearing black on black with wine colored ties and my groom will be wearing an ivory tie, he loves that he will be different..

I'm having a hard time picturing that. We are having all of the guys in the same tux, but FH will have an ivory vest to match my dress and the GM will have cognac colored vests.

Personally I prefer the more coordinated look with all the guys in the same tux. My Hubs was set apart by having a different color tie and vest than the other guys (white to match me, the GM had purple to match the BMs).

I wanted them all to have the same suits but FH would have a different color but he was telling me the other day that he wants to be the only one wearing his suit, he chose a different style for the groomsmen and best man which is not too different from what he's wearing so it's fine with me.

Oh, but black and navy- NO

Mine are all in different tuxes. FW will be wearing a white mirage tux and everyone else will have on a black regular tux.

David's Bridal has a neat feature called "Dress Your Wedding" which allows you to try out different combinations for your wedding party. Here is what it looks like with the groom in black tux/white vest and the groomsmen in grey tux/navy vest.

My groom will be wearing a blue vest...gm will be wearing brown vests. FOG and FOB will be wearing ivory vests...

I like that you set the groom aprt from the groomsmen We areall dressing diffent colors then our bms so why not do the same for the gm

I think if that's what you want to do then do it. My FH and his Groomsmen will be wearing the same tux, but they will be wearing purple vests and ties, and he'll be wearing a silver vest and tie.

I think that if that's what you and FS like then go for it!

Our guys are wearing pinstipe tux with white shirts and purple vests and ties and FS is wearing a pinstriped tux with black shirt and white vest and tie.

Do it the way you guys like it. There are no SET rules in stone.

@ Dragonfly... that's exactly how we are doing it.. same tuxes, but groom in soft white vest, while the groomsman is matching MOH...

My groom and groomsmen will be wearing the same tux with the exception that my hubby will be wearing the vest and tie and hanky in red. The groomsmen just the hanky in red.

All of the guys will be wearing the same tux. GM will have brown vest and FH & both of our sons who are the ring bearers will be wearing a champagne vest with hints of brown in it.
