*Grand Entrance Song*

Mandy, on June 1, 2011 at 6:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

Loved seeing what you brides will be walking down the aisle to, what I wanna know is what song you are using to kick off the wedding party?? I am currently trying to talk FH into Notorious B.I.G's "Hypnotize"...not only do I think it would set the mood for a good time, it would be kinda hilarious and a CLASSIC song =) reminds me of when we first started dating...just not too sure the grandparents would find humor in it though hahaha

Are you talking about the reception entrance? We used the Rocky theme song, it was pretty cute!

I'm using JLo's "Lets Get Loud". Another friend of mine used Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feelin" which was well received - even by the older more mature guests

We're using Pink's "Raise Your Glass." Fitting and she is from my hometown so it made sense.

I think we are doing TI's "Bring Em' Out". We have no idea what the bridal party is coming out to.

I'm hoping to do "Better Now" by Collective Soul...love the lyrics (I'm newly calibrated...I'm your recent adaptation...time to redefine me!), the melody, and it's upbeat and fun!

I would love to use "Planet Rock" by Afika Bambaataa and come out on roller skates, but FH nixed it.

Enter Sandman - Metallica ... Sure the older guests will not find it one bit amusing and my Mom will be pissed but I just do NOT care ... it's the one thing FS has asked for so you bet your behind it will happen ...

    From my dj past:

My favorite was a song called Hot In the City by Billy Idol.

A few times I used Party Hard by Andrew W.K.

Some people used the instrumental beginning of Fight For your Right by the Beastie Boys

I also remember Bawtibadabadabada or whatever it was called by Kid Rock. We had 4 strobe lights and a very large fog machine inside the room for that one. Sadly, no video.

Whatever you choose, tho, please no Rock & Roll Part II (Gary Glitter is a child molester) or Sirius (the Chicago Bulls theme). Done to death and then some.

Michael Grimm "You Can Leave Your Hat On" HAS to be my garter toss song, and it's a lil racy but I love it and it's perfect for us! I'm trying to get him to wear a fedora for the reception so I can wear it during that song.

Ooh when he's 'searching' for the garter, we're going to play the chorus of Mariah Carey's Touch My Body and then when he's tossing it, we're gonna play Shaggy's Boombastic.
