Gown help- needing ideas for gowns that cover the chest

on March 9, 2021 at 9:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
I am just beginning the process of shopping for my gown and I anxious about the process. I have a progressive neuromuscular disease that has lead me to having a permanent central line (hickman) in my chest. The line is one that is not under the skin like a port but hangs outside. I really would prefer to cover it as much as I can on my wedding day. Does anyone have any suggestions of designers that have gowns that cover the chest area, but in an elegant way or search terms that may help me to find such dresses for inspiration pics to take with me when I go shopping?

If you’re looking at dress websites, most will let you filter by neckline. High neck, bateau, and jewel will all likely give the coverage you need. Some cowel or halter necks will too.

I'm a huge fan of the allure bridal designers and have been for years. Usually more affordable than some other designers!

I had a custom-made dress and specified that I would like a high sweetheart neckline. Most sweetheart necklines were too low for me so I asked for it to be raised... so I ended up with the same style neckline but more modest. If you are opting for a custom dress, you can always ask for specific modifications. Smiley smile
