Got my rings back- soldered- pic :)

Jessica, on July 16, 2012 at 11:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

Since we got married, I didn't post too many things on here but I got my rings back today from being "soldered" and wanted to share-

Anyone else do this?

Post a pic of your rings!

    Pretty!

I had my e-ring soldered with the band it came with. I don't think I'll get the other band soldered as well though.

pic 1 is before, you can see how the bottom one is separate from the top with the stone.

pic 2 is with the new band.

I'm having mine done for sizing purposes since it does takes them while and then once I get them back I have to wear them for a while to be sure that I can take them on and off comfortably. As once we are married we will be heading back to the East Coast and there is no Shane Co. close by, so it cannot be done back there at all. So I have to be sure of the proper sizing before the wedding. And I'm pretty sure that right now the size I'm having it taken to will not be the right size and they will have to go back in and taken up to at least a size 6, which is a 1/2 size larger than my original ring was. But I have 2 wedding bands - one on each side of e-ring and it really makes a huge difference. So we'll have to see what it looks like when I get it back, which should be Wednesday.

Kimm P I got my rings at ShaneCo too. I will also have two bands, wonder if we have a similar ring?

Jessica I plan on getting my rings soldered. I like how it helps them from spinning around.

Our rings...DEFINITELY soldered. Not only does it keep it from slipping as much, it also keeps your rings from wearing down as fast. My rings also have a euroshank, meaning it's flat on the bottom...also keeps them from spinning. A must for someone who wears a size 4 on her ring finger. Argh...technically, this ring is considered too large for someone who wears my size. I don't care, lol! I love the ring! (and this post, btw...can never get enough of the sparklers!)

Probably won't get mine soldered. I like the option of just wearing my wedding band! Especially while travelling.. I'd feel better knowing my e-ring was safe at home.

I have two wedding bands and they have to sit a certain way to look right, so I am going to solder mine after the wedding

Gorgeous! I was considering soldering my rings but decided against it. Even though I love them together, I like the option of just wearing my band. Luckily because they have details carved on all the sides, it doesn't show scratches or anything like a polished ring would. They really don't rub very much either though.

We're thinking of getting another band for the other side...I'm not going to get my soldered until we do and then I'm not sure if I will...

*I know the band is on the wrong side it was my way of trying it on without breaking any rules about wearing my band before we're married lol.

I've thought about it but haven't made any decisions yet. All the ladies that have had it done, your rings look gorgeous!, and it's definitely swaying me towards getting it done.

For those of you not wanting to solder because you want to have the option of just your band, have you considered just buying a separate band? We do a lot of camping a 4 wheeling so I will be buying a plain band to wear on our outdoor trips. It never occurred for me to do that until I broke one of the prongs on my e ring over New Years while out 4 wheeling. I figured I would just order one from JVL since it is $25. Just another option to think about.

I've thought about buying a cheap band for when we are somewhere or doing something that I want to have a band but don't want it to be my actual band. I probably will eventually buy one.

However I still like being able to wear my actual wedding band by itself. Example, I take off my e-ring every night and still wear my wedding band. A lot of times, if I'm not leaving the house or doing anything, I won't bother putting my e-ring on and will just wear my band. I love my e-ring, absolutely love it. However besides my wedding jewelry I rarely wear any, so sometimes it is nice to just be wearing my band, and have it be my actual wedding band.
