Gold wedding

Courtney, on July 1, 2020 at 8:09 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16
For those of you who are having gold weddings , did you have any trouble matching all your gold decor? I feel like there's so many different shades of gold that's it's hard to match them , especially with having to get things online. My dress is a champagne & antique gold & I picked out flower gold dresses that are a completely different gold, more like a Metallic/yellowish gold. I picked out the dress back in late March once all the stores were shut down so I didn't realize it was that different but now I'm trying to find a way to make things look cohesive atleast with the decor, but still finding it difficult!

My colors were red gold and ivory. I had no issues finding matching colors. Smiley smile however, all dresses were bought at the same place as well as all gold decorations. The only different color was the gold of my flower girls dress because it was a belle costume. Most gold fabric I found was not actual gold. I had to search pretty hard to find what I was looking for.

We also did red gold and ivory. We had different shades of gold bc it was just impossible. But everything looked pretty and came together nicely!

I think I'm mostly having trouble with the decor. Our color are gold and navy accented with red (only our flowers are red). My dress is champagne with some dark gold lace. When I picked out the flower girl dress I didn't really think about it being a different gold, but it's too late to go back and change it. So I tried to find some matching petals for decor. I found a mix pack that had red , champagne and a gold color matching the flower girls, but I'm just wondering if things will look off or if I'm sweating the small things lol. Gold wedding 1

Makes sense! I honestly didn't think it would be a challenge with gold! Good to know that you had different shades and it turned out beautifully! ☺️

Yea it's hard. I'm trying not to be too picky and stress myself out as long as it doesn't look weird. The only person that cares is the bride lol.

I have had a hard time, because I’ve been doing so much online planning and purchasing due to Covid-19. I am pretty sure I’ll have a variety of golds, but I’m keeping the faith that it’ll all work out anyway. 😊

Lol yeah I probably will be the only one who cares! It would probably won't be a big deal. I just need to get the centerpieces together at least!

Same here! I've been doing mostly everything online through Amazon & Etsy. Good thing is with Amazon, if I don't like it, I can easily send it back.

Exactly! And I honestly think even if there is some variation, it’ll still look beautiful. We brides can drive ourselves crazy with all these details!

Lol oh yeah. I have a tall centerpiece that’s a darker gold and a shorter vase centerpiece more of a yellow gold and I was stressing out. I couldn’t find the exact shades anywhere! It turned out to be okay though because the shorter vases with flowers covered up most of the vase, plus they will be on separate tables so it’s not like anyone will notice.

I started a forum with this question a month or two ago and a bride showed me her mix of golds and it still looked nice.

That's good that the vases will be on separate tables! And what's the forum called? I want to go see the other bride's pictures!

Ohh okay I see! I actually did see that post when I searching the forum for others who had gold weddings haha. We're doing lanterns so I think we may just spray paint that the color gold we want and leave everything else the same! Going to try not to over think it lol

I personally prefer decor using multiple shades of a color. If everything is exactly the same it can look a bit "one note". Using multiples shades adds depth and interest.
