Godiva for gifts or favors

Juanita, on June 12, 2010 at 10:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 29

Im thinking about this, i think it would be nicer than spending half the money on a common carboard box with ribbon only to put cheap candy into it.

I absolutely LOVE Godiva chocolate. If you can afford it, go for it! Smiley smile As long as heat won't be an issue, chocolate will do fine. If you order in advance and hold on to them, make sure they're in a safe spot where ants can't get to them. One year my Mom got See's Candy boxes and the ants ruined them all. This goes for all candy, not just chocolate... it popped into my head, so I figured I'd post the warning Smiley smile Something I never would have thought about.

I love the cake shaped chocolate. That was always something I thought about getting for my wedding if I was able to afford it.

Me too! When I see one, I get excited Smiley smile What's your favorite piece? I love the Crème Brûlée the most, but I don't see it on their site. Sadly, there is no Godiva around me Smiley sad I used to live not far from one.

So i went to the mall yesterday, they have a kiosk and asked about the small chocolate cakes. she gave me a bunch of brochures. the creme brulee are on the brochure but they are not on the website! this also is true for the demitasse which is another favorite of mine simply because they are small but they have the godiva logo on them. so i guess i have to call the company. the sales lady also said that they change their selections every season and next spring there could be an entirely different line. this spring they have these adorable little truffle buttons with colored flowers printed on the top of the chocolate

Also, you dont see this on the website, but you can actually order custom printed ribbon with your name and date! they will tie all these up for you too. specifically this is for the 2 peice and the 4 peice favors, with or without charms, and the brochure i have shows heart charms in gold or silver, gem flower charms in pink, star charms in silver or a white calla lillie. the boxes are gold or white and the ribbons come in all colors. the 2 peice boxes run 3:50 to 5:50 each and 4 peice favors run 6.50 to 8.50 each, with or without ribbon and charms and custom printing.

How many guests are you having? That could really add up!! BUT with that said, people love chocolate so it's hard to go wrong, plus those links you posted are adorable!! Will you have an alternative favor for those of your guests allergic to chocolate?

My favors will be little bars of homemade soap in an intoxicating Sugared Vanilla scent. They are made in a little shop in my city, and are only $1 each!! They include decorative labels and everything! My favourite scents there are Sweet Spot, Sugared Vanilla, Chocolate, and Coconut Cream..simply delicious, you want to bite into it!! They make lotions, lip balms, bath salts and many other products! They are on etsy if anyone is interested! Smiley smile

My friend did this for her wedding. But only 1 box per couple, then a slightly cheaper alternating favor..... I bought champagne and raspberry truffles and silver boxes and made my own, not godiva, because my budget was tight but I really cared about favors and I love chocolate truffles!

"also, you dont see this on the website, but you can actually order custom printed ribbon with your name and date! "

That was one thing I really liked about them Smiley smile I don't know if I had heard about it on the site and they changed it or if I saw that while in their store. Too cute Smiley smile I don't think that's a bad price at all. I would sample the chocolates first, make sure you like the specific ones in the boxes. Godiva is special though, they don't make nasty chocolate. Just gives you an excuse to eat chocolate. :p "I have to make sure it's yummy for the guests. I can't tell with just 1 piece, I need 5 more." :p I want Godiva so bad right now. How many guests are you having?

We're having 200 - 225 people. My mom went to Costco and bought 23 POUNDS of M&Ms for $56 (they have a $2.50 coupon off 56 oz bags in this month's sale flyer). Godiva would be lovely, but for $56, we'd only get enough for like 8 guests.

I never heard of chocolate alergy, this gives me the idea to put this on the RSVP card - "please note any food preferences, alergies or other accomidations"

well my family side is going to be about 50-60 people, and FH side is totally unclear as he is only verbally telling me the guest list, but he isnt telling me all his friends he wants, even long lost friends. im going to guess about 30 including lots of kids. So with that, a small party, the budget will thankfully be low, but im going to think of it in terms of a per person basis. So i was going to have some favors anyway, and i found the perfect little boxes at 3:50 each online. i thought i had it all figured out. i want the box to be a keepsake not a throw away thats why i was willing to pay more, but when i saw these favors at godiva for 3-5 bucks, i thought the value was exponentiall higher, especially if the godiva logo shows. im going to pay for godiva, i really want them to KNOW Its godiva! lol

Oh JJ, i did think about buying my own little gold boxes for cheaper and then buying some assorteds in bulk, so i got some prices on truffles per pound. one dozen heart shape godiva cookies are 8.50, that is 70 cents per cookie, each person can get just one on their plate and it will say godiva on top OR $48/lb of truffles which contains about 75 peices, that is about 64 cents a truffle, and each person gets one truffle on their plate, but these dont have logos. i could buy little gold boxes or gold ribbon for them to show people this isnt just an every day chocolate. when i get a godiva truffle, i just suck on it for hours. the turtles also have their logo on the top.
