I've been searching for a first dance song that talks about God's love for us and our love for each other and emphasizes the promise we've made for life. It may be a lot to ask for in a song, but I'm sure it is out there somewhere!

I've narrowed it down to:

This Day by Jadon Lavik

The Marriage Prayer by John Waller

I'm looking more for a fusion of these two songs, with a hint of the passion and heart twang of Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You"

I like Steven Curtis Chapman's "I Will Be Here" but I grew up listening to that song, so it's kind of out as a first dance song, though it is really nice and I love the meaning!

Anyone have suggestions? Smiley winking

    Does it have to be a specific genre? If not there is a (I guess it would be r&b but not really)gospel artist (Marvin Sapp) who sings a song (Never would have made it) it's one of my favorite songs. He's talking about God but, the lyrics can be applied to you and your SO....it's beautiful.

    No, it doesn't have to be a certain genre, I just don't want it to be super upbeat so we can do a little bit of a slow dance Smiley winking I'll check that one out too! Thanks Smiley smile
