Go get fitted or order online??

Danielle, on January 8, 2021 at 11:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
I found groomsmen vests (they’re only wearing vests), on amazon that I absolutely love-they go by chest & length measurements, so sizing should be pretty accurate and reviews say so also. Is it risky to do it on my own? Or should I go somewhere that will measure all the guys and get them vests. If i do that, im almost positive they’re not gonna have the color I want.

I don't see the harm in ordering the ones from Amazon and seeing how they fit! You can always return them and go get them fitted if they don't work out!

I would only order online if it's not a hassle to return it.

You can generally get fitted for free at tux shops to get an idea of how a size will fit but each style can fit differently.

If you or groom look at the T chart, where to measure length and where to measure across, you should get a reasonable fit unless someone is very stout or has a beer belly. Those you usually order one full size over what is needed. Then a cheap alteration, they take in all of the extra in the back. So the back is narrower, with the side seams coming down straight from the armpit. But the front only will have 2-4 inches more than usual for the bigger belly. Like a maternity item at 6 months, an extension of the lower front without the whole vest staying oversize. If they run true to size, why not? What color?

Well originally i wanted tan, but i found brown wool ones. That brown just goes so well with my bridemaid’s pink.

I would check the return policy on Amazon. I know a lot of things you can return for free of charge so if that's the case they could order them and try them on prior to the wedding to make sure they properly fit.

Never order anything online without first getting fitted by either someone at home or a local shop.

Vests of light wool suiting rather than a lining material like most rentals look classier, I think, when they are wearing only vests. And photograph better in strong light than satin shiny ones.

As others have said, check the return policy. i don't see the harm in you sizing them yourselves or themselves. but personally, if you have someone like a tailor or a seamstress you know it might be more accurate. my husband did that - my uncle is a tailor and he just measured my husband for him.
