Gifts for parents of bride and groom

MiaLee, on July 11, 2013 at 2:30 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

Any suggestions? I'm lost as to what I should get them and what's an appropriate amount to spend!

What and how much is appropriate is up to you. You can write them a heartfelt letter or send them on a vacation -- I've seen lots of options on here.

We made our parents photo books after the wedding, but the day before the wedding we gifted them these platters. We each wrote a short note to each set of parents using a special pen that was baked in for permanency. Super sentimental without breaking the bank. Here's my blog post about how we did it:

There's lots of super cute options on Etsy as well.

We're thinking of writing them a nice card with a note that says we'll make them a parent book once we get the professional pictures back. I'll probably order the parent books through Shutterfly with a coupon.

We're going to do an album for them from Shutterfly or another online picture place.

I like the idea of a photo book! My parents and his parents will both love it.

We're given them a photobook as well. Maybe something else too (bc it's a mini photobook), but I haven't thought about it.

May we were almost date twins!

I had to go a week sooner because of student teaching though! It was the only way we would be guaranteed a honeymoon!

We didn't spend a lot.. we are both the youngest in our families and last to get married, so we get them each a set of nice frames and filled one pic for each of their already married children from their wedding days and then a little "I owe you" where our photo would go and then after the wedding, we gave them a picture from our day to add to the frames.. We also made a shutterfly photobook for each set of parents after the wedding, but that was just because..

Both sets of parents are divorced, so we gave the dad's engraved wooden pocket knives (the same gift as the groomsmen) and are putting together albums for our moms. We told our mom's about the albums because we didn't want them to feel we forgot them when we passed out gifts (but of course both mom's said it wasn't necessary!)

We got our moms necklaces from Origami Owl. You can choose the charms that you put in the necklace. We are still searching for our dads.
