Gifts for family/wedding party?

Jessie, on February 15, 2020 at 10:13 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 7
Did you and your FH get gifts for anyone? If so, who? What and when did you give them them? Did you and your FH buy separate gifts for people?

(I already got my bridesmaids gifts when I did their "proposals" and plan on buying them pearl necklaces also). Mainly wondering on the etiquette for families.

We are giving gifts to family and our bridal party. FH doesn’t have siblings but I have 3 and two nieces to include.

So family on both sides and bridal party (one on each side, mine is my sister & his is his childhood best friend) will get a reusable Starbucks hot or cold cup with a personalized sticker that has their name and respective ‘title’.
Parents will get photo albums or framed photos after we get our pictures.
My two brothers who aren’t in the bridal party but will usher my mom & maybe our dog to their seats will get a personalized multi use pocket knife.
Best man will get (I think) a whiskey glass that isn’t personalized (brand is FH fav.) and a little liquor bottle.
My MOH (sister) will get a bracket and engraved on the inside will say today my matron of honor forever my sister.
Flower girls (nieces) will get a necklace and probably an activity book of some sort since they are the only two kids at the wedding.
Just little somethings to say thank you & thing we think everyone will like without breaking the bank since we are paying for everything ourself.

I think every family is different. I'd be really surprised if my mom or my FH's parents expected anything in the way of gifts from us.

However both are contributing to our wedding, so I think we'll likely get them something, but it might just be an album or photos after the wedding. We are going to make sure our photographer does some family photos, so I think my FH's parents in particular would appreciate that, and my mom just loves photos so photos of me and my FH, me and my mom, and me and my best friend (who has been my bestie since we were kids so she's practically family) would make my mom happy. Our families don't typically do much in the way of Christmas gifts (we all have plenty and generally don't need more "stuff") so I feel like getting them a gift just to get them a gift, if it isn't something they want/need and won't mean something, is kinda pointless.

We are getting gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are also getting gifts for my parents since they are paying for the whole wedding.

Bridesmaids- embroidered zip up bag, face masks, eye masks, bath bombs, personalized wine tumblers, and waffle robes
Groomsmen- personalized yeti tumblers and cigars
My parents- picture frames that are wedding themed. We are also planning on taking them on a trip to Portugal next year as a huge thank you for paying for the wedding.

I've been struggling with this question.

I've ordered robes for the girls and tote bags, but kinda lame to give empty bags! trying to figure out what would be best to fill it with. our wedding is on the beach, so i'm thinking maybe a cheap pair of sandals and sunglasses?

i also got the moms cute necklaces and the dads some engraved cuff links. debating on if i should do more, it never seems like enough!

So I chose to give my bridesmaids/flower girl/ring bearer gifts the night of our rehearsal dinner. My husband gave his groomsman gifts the day of the wedding. For my bridesmaids, I gave them matching robes (from Etsy) for "getting ready" photos and a necklace I love from James Avery. I found alot of great ideas for flower girls/ring bearer from the Personalization Mall website for minimal cost. Other family gifts were given the same evening at the dinner.
