Gift help needed

Leslie, on February 17, 2020 at 12:06 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

My MOH is my niece (she’s 13 years younger than me but 47) and she has loads of money. I do not. Which is the problem. I would like to get her a memorable gift (her hubby is BM) but she’s got real jewelry, Tiffany bracelet, etc. We won’t be getting ready together but she’ll kelp me with dress etc. Any great ideas for a gift for her and her husband? Thanks in advance.

I think it’s the sentiment. A nice thank you card and maybe a gift card to a nice restaurant or movie tickets for them to have a date night

Do you have good photos of you together? A nicely framed photo is a great gift that feels personal. Personalized wine glasses or tumblers are also nice - I got some on Etsy for my BMs. You could include a bottle of their favorite wine or liquor. I agree with Melle that it's the sentiment that counts and I'm sure they will appreciate you going through the effort to thank them.

My best friend gave me a beautiful framed picture of the two of us from her wedding. I loved it! Way more meaningful than something expensive.

I'd stay away from generic gifts, like personalized robes or tumblers that she may not use again. Personal gifts are always best. Shop for her like you would for her birthday, just think about what she would like. A personal letter saying what she means to you could be a great gift that doesn't cost you anything. Rebelle's suggestion for a personal album is great. You can make one easily on Shutterfly or you can use that site to make her an ornament or mug with a custom photo. It's absolutely not about the money, but about the thought that you put into it.

I agree with this. Framed photos are always good for those that seem to have everything or can and do just buy whatever they want.
