Giant Jenga?

Maggie N, on June 1, 2013 at 6:39 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

FH and FBIL/BM are googling and trying to figure out the most efficient way to make a giant Jenga for our cocktail hour. Has anyone made one or seen one? Any hints on the construction, purchasing materials, anything?

Trena is doing one. She's super crafty, so should have some good advice. Hopefully she sees this!

You should have people sign the Jenga pieces and use it as your guest book as well Smiley smile thatd be pretty cool!

They have giant Jengas at my TJ Maxx! You can definately buy it if you dont want to make it! Amazon probably has one. Or even maybe ebay!

This is the cheapest one i've found :

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-1-2M-GIANT-WOODEN-TUMBLING-JENGA-TOWER-BLOCKS-OUTDOOR-GARDEN-FAMILY-FUN-GAME-/360639870680?pt=UK_Toys_Games_Games&hash=item53f7cfb6d8

I would love it, but I already feel like i'm moving with all the stuff I have to bring to the venue - another large object is the last thing I need.

Edit: I just realized how much shipping was for that! Not worth it!

Thanks Barbara! I am making one! It is so easy it's not even funny. Spent about $20 on it!

    Here's the tutorial I followed: http://community.homedepot.com/t5/Fun-Games/Building-a-Giant-Jenga-Game/td-p/48259

But instead of buying four 16 footers, we got eight 8 footers. 16' is really hard to transport! haha

All you have to do is cut them, and make sure you take a sander to the corners and any sharp edges. Then you are done! Smiley smile I am also stamping mine using a template and some spray paint with our initials. We plan to keep it for a long time for future barbecues and camping trips Smiley smile

Depending on how big u want to go or how crafty you want to be, the easiest way is to take 2x4s and create 54 10 inch pieces or so... Obviously you will have to sand them down so there aren't any splinters left... Then you can have a great time playing Jenga, and let me tell u the rules have to be adjusted just slightly due to its size but you can figure those out as you go! Enjoy!

Try looking on amazon for the large jenga puzzle.

But for my wedding I'm having my guest sign/ leave word of love on each pieces as our guest book. I mean it's our favorite game to play. I brought two boxes of jenga last year during cyber Monday for $8.00 for the both.

You can buy a large Jenga on Amazon. And here is the conquest of the big Jenga https://jenga-game.com/reviews/best-giant-jenga/ . For a large company, this game is just bombing. We really like it.

My kids and I always enjoy spending our free time playing some Jenga Giant games. It's so thrilling, especially when you don't know if the tower is going to fall or not!
