Getting Ready at Home on day of wedding

Olga, on May 16, 2021 at 11:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
I’m getting ready at my home on the day of the wedding and I also have a small bridal party of 4 bridesmaids . I don’t like how my living room looks like, where do bridesmaids and the bride usually get ready? The bedroom or living room or somewhere else?

I mean you can get ready where ever. You utilize the whole your home. So if you got a big kitchen table/counter area. Place all the makeup and stuff on the table. If you are doing some food/ snackys drinks..Water.. mimosas 🍾

Whatever you want. You can all just get ready separately. If you are getting stuff done professionally they will want a big area to work on each girl.

My friend used her whole apartment. We were in her bedrooms living room kitchen. Dining area. There were 10 of us. Ugh too many girls but it worked. At my venue we are using the bridal suite perfectly lighting and space for photos. i have 3 bridesmaids my self my sister in law and mothers.

Do a y of your ladies live locally, within half hour? Ot is far i er not to have such a big crowd together, less on your nerves if a couple are at another house, or if you rent a 2 bed/ 2 bath suite. This getting ready all together is a new thing, and, having done both kinds, is definitely miserable compared to separate spaces and multiple HMU, some to a salon or hotel. No waiting turns, or never more than one.

Wherever you like! I have been a part of a wedding where we all got ready in the dining room because it had so much space and a huge table for all of us to sit down and do our makeup. Plus, the lighting was good from the windows. Keep in mind the lighting for your MUA and photographer. They will appreciate that a lot and make sure you look flawless that day in any light.

I like Caitlin's idea of spreading out as well!! You can set up a few different "getting ready stations" if you need!

I've also had friends use their wedding suite as the place the bride & bridesmaids get ready!! Most importantly you'll need enough seats for everyone and enough outlets for all the hair tools!

We are kind of spreading out a bit. I'm doing it at my mom's condo because her condo has more room than my house does. She has a big master bedroom with multiple walk in closets, a really nice vanity area that will be perfect for the makeup artist to lay out all of her things, and a huge dining room that we will probably use for the hair stylist. Kitchen is for snacks and drinks. I have 5 people in my party, plus my mom and my FH's best woman is coming over early to get ready before going to hang with him, so we'll have 8 people in the area. Just have to work with what you have!
