Getting my RSVPs back blank!!

LaNette, on May 24, 2017 at 4:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

Heads up brides who are sending out their wedding invitations and rsvp cards. I clearly addressed my wedding invitations and I put my return address on the rsvp envelope along with a stamp. But I continue to get rsvps back with no name on either the envelope or the reply card. They just checked the reply card and sent it in the mail completely blank! I don't know if others have run into this problem but if I could go back I would write the name of the family on the rsvp envelope so I could avoid this problem. It's a hassle asking around who sent their rsvp in the mail blank and trying to determine who it is.

Yes, other people have come across this. That is why it is suggested to number the back of your RSVPS.

Its too late for you but for other brides, number the back of your RSVP cards so that you can tell who is sending the card back if they send it blank.

That's why I numbered my RSVP's in the back. Really small. Its how I knew who sent back a blank RSVP.

I would have never thought of this if I had not come to this site.

    Yea, that sucks Smiley sad

My FH didn't want to number the RSVPs and our RSVP envelopes were big enough, so we put both our address and the guest's return address on the envelope.

Exactly why I wrote a number of the back of each of ours. Luckily only 1 came back this way.

I just don't get why adults can't figure out how to RSVP. It's a pre-stamped, pre-addressed, fill-in-the-blank card! Why is it so hard for some people??

We numbered the back of each RSVP card in invisible ink. Also put "Names:____" instead of "M_____" to make it crystal clear.

I only had one person do this. It was my SO's cousin. I only could tell who it was by the postmarked city, as they are the only ones from that region. I did number the backs, but their invite was sent later because I had to pull teeth to get their address. Yes, it's a good idea to number the backs by guest count.

I numbered my RSVP's and surprisingly did not have a single one come back blank. Good precaution? I guess so.

Check the zip code stamped across the top (I forget what that's called), then try the process of elimination from there.

I live in a different state so they all get routed through a big city in the state my wedding is in. So I can't track it that way. I wish I would have known the number trick. I just wanted to post for those who still have time to number or write the names on the envelops so they aren't experiencing what I am.

Yep!! It's definitely happened to a lot of brides and grooms on here. I took the advice of WW and numbered the back so I can look up who it belongs to. I track it all in a spreadsheet. Luckily I haven't received any blanks yet. There's still time though. Sorry you are dealing with this OP!

I also numbered my RSVPs. You'll have to wait until they all come in and then by process of elimination, start calling. Perhaps the post mark might be clue who it's from. Did you save the RSVP envelopes? Does any of the handwriting look familiar?

The only thing you really can do at this point is to start calling or emailing people.

I have three like that, but the numbers on the back in pencil were helpful. I'm not sure who said it in the thread, but check the post mark.

I cannot understand why people do this... even as a guests perspective why would the bride or groom magically know this is your card???

This sucks! Is there a return address or anything? Or does it at least show how many seats you have reserved in their honor, to narrow down possibilities?

I figured out who they are. One was from my sister! Haha but luckily they wrote little notes so I could ask around show handwriting, etc.
