Getting married Sept 12

Mrs. S, on April 30, 2020 at 8:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13
Hello everyone! Getting the hang of using this forum! I’ve been keeping up with everyone’s comments and concerns and I haven’t really been on the side of panic at all, but rounding 4m out I am getting a liiiiitle nervous. I’m holding off ordering invitations for a few weeks but it seems like it’s cutting it close? Thoughts? Positive vibes?

I’m getting married October 10th and plan on sending invites in July, so I would send yours in June sometime. Hopefully we have some clarity by that point!

Thank you! My plan was to send them out first or second week of July (we didn’t do save the dates so I figured sending out little early is ok). I’m just nervous to order them right now and then the quarantine is pushed further than May 15. Definitely hoping by then we will know more soon!!

I would wait another month or so if you can. Also, not sure if you know where you’re ordering your invites, but I would order from sites that are offering free/discounted invite reprinting if you have to postpone. I heard Shutterfly reprints for free and Minted reprints for 25% of the price you paid. Good luck!

Ooh thank you! I was going to use zazzle, they had a special going on for discounts but I’m not sure about reprints. I’ll definitely look for sites that offer that!😊

I have the same date as you. I have my invites ready to go already; I ordered them during a good sale. I'm not worried, I think by September we will be in the clear with minimal restrictions. Talk to your venue too; my venue has a max capacity of 600 so my guest list of 140 should be fine even if we have a few restrictions. Talk to your caterer as well; mine made a few changes but mainly like servers wearing masks and gloves. Just be positive. In my state starting today there are a few more businesses opening back up for curbside/ delivery. Then Friday state parks are set to reopen.

I have invited ready to order just didn’t pull the trigger yet! I’m not paranoid just a little nervous is all, but the venue said they didn’t have any updates just yet and had to wait until they hear more on our NYS guidelines for weddings. We have about 90 people so I’m hoping it all ends up working out!! Thank you! I am hoping this is a fantastic day for us both!!

We aren't even doing traditional invitations at all at this point. Still not sure if we will have to post-pone, and I'm sure we will have to limit our guest list significantly if we are able to move forward.

I am sending out a little card to everyone now (similar to save the date/confirming the date as of right now) and then when I would have sent my real ones, I either will be able to (virus willing) or I’ll wait a little further if nothings cleared up in my area. I really hope we will all be able to keep the dates! My heart breaks for people who had to cancel, praying we don’t have to join that train

That's a good idea. This sucks for everyone, but FH and I decided to have a wedding instead of eloping and booked our venue in early March. I feel so bad for those of you who have been planning for so long. I hope we don't too :-)

Exactly! Our 10 year Anniversary is in October and the venue we loved didn’t have our day so we figured a few weeks before us just as good. Small intimate wedding but I have a good feeling we will be alright!! Positives vibes from here on out!!

We’re on 10/10 and we haven’t ordered invitations yet (but holding onto the sample we ordered). We sent “Save The Dates” back in January and it included our website link. Also we’re only inviting 65 guests and they already know the date, time, location, along with the other wedding information from the website. So I’m not worried about the invitation because it’s more of a formality since our wedding details are already known to our guests.

Thank you so much!! I’ve been reading through as many as I can! So much helpful information and it’s nice to have other brides who know exactly how I am feeling! I’ll check those out, and yes!! Praying for the best outcome!!💕
