Whatever beach you decide upon, make sure you also rent a large tent or have a back-up venue in the (highly likely) event of rain.

From what I understand, you can get married outdoors, but you cannot reserve the space because it is public so you do risk people walking in on your wedding or tampering with your things..

You may have already called to ask, but try calling (206) 684-4081 to find the rules. I've seen pictures of people getting married over by the trees there so I would think there is a way... Good luck!

I would say google or if you have any vendors ask their suggestions. I'm from the Seattle area as well, but dont know much about beaches. And I will definitely second to make sure you have a back-up plan because rain in April is VERY VERY likely. And it will also be a bit cooler by the beach. Good luck!

A bride of mine got married on the beach at "Seattle's Alki Beach" I'm not familiar with the area, but if it is close to you just contact the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department. They will give you information regarding purchasing a permit for the ceremony. Lots of luck!

Seattle can be pretty picky can't it! I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time finding the right venue to host your beautiful event. I would suggest that you choose a n overlook to a beach and then have your actual wedding reception at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse. I have photographed a few weddings at the location, and pretty much all of the weddings take place indoors. I think that they have issues trying to hold the beach open for whole wedding parties because of a few issues:

    1) It's a public park which means no alcohol. I think that in the past they might have had issues with open bottles moving from inside the venue to outside on the beach.

    2) Seattle doesn't have very many beaches, so they are probably a bit worried about liability with a wedding going on at the same time as summer fun.

Here are a few parks that I would recommend you try calling to see if you can have a wedding in the 'park' and then get photographs on the actual beach. To Be Cont.

I would recommend that you try:

    - Lincoln Park in West Seattle

    - Alki Beach in West Seattle

    - Discovery Park

    - The Olympic Sculpture Park in Downtown Seattle

    - The Lockes

Please contact me directly if you need any more help (I have lots of friends in the industry that I can hook you up with) or if you need an affordable wedding photographer for the Seattle area. My prices start at just $475.

Best wishes, and I know that your wedding is going to be absolutely stunning.

    Lots of love,

Hello to all.. I've actually found tbe perfect place for my ceremony. It will be outdoors at Luther Burbank park in mercer island . It over looks the water yes it might rain but my fiancee won't mind it at all.. We decided we wanted out side rain or shine! We will be giving out umbrellas as souvenirs sort of like an April shower theme. The umbrellas have our names and are white.. We might get a little cute tent for us and the officiant. Our reception will be held at the VFW hall in mercer island just a 5min away! Thank you for all your input!

    Priscila,

Luther Burbank is BEAUTIFUL! I had completely forgotten about it, but I shot a 'first-look' session there before the couple's ceremony, and there is beautiful areas to shoot in.

Have you already found a photographer?
