Getting into wedding dress alone for elopement wedding

Jenny, on April 6, 2018 at 3:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hey everyone,

My fiancé and I are eloping in St Thomas in June. He doesn't want to see me until the ceremony. I have a corset back and will need help getting it tied up. I was thinking I can have our photographer possibly come to our condo and take a couple pictures and help? Or maybe our wedding planner would come help with that? Not really sure what to do.. Any tips?

I probably would have considered this when I was buying my dress, but I'm sure the photographer can help you out if he/she will be there! You might just have to talk them through how to tie it.

Your wedding planner should be able to. Just ask!

If you have a wedding planner, I am sure they would be glad to help. Otherwise, talk to the concierge at your hotel. They can arrange almost anything.

Check your photography contract if you have one, because mine has a clause that says she will not help with the dress, so that if anything happens to it, she cannot be held responsible.

Aww that's a tough one!!! Maybe while you are there you can meet a nice couple (you need a witness anyway correct?) And maybe she will be willing to help you... If not yes maybe the concierge will be helpful!!! Good luck to you and congratulations

Chat with your wedding planner. She or a staff member should be use to helping brides with such issues or know who can help.

Will you have a HMUA? Mine actually helped me with this and other little things I needed help with.

I had a destination wedding with no wedding party... I had more hands offering help for everything while I was getting ready... from my hair and make up team to the photographer to the videographer to the planner.

on my wedding day, I found that everyone was bending over backwards to take care of me! They made me feel so special and it was so natural. I didn’t expect it.

I also think they are just used to helping... most dresses are complicated to get into (even with a zipper!) and you are juggling a lot that day (lipstick, extra hairspray, a clutch, a bouquet, your handwritten vows, etc). If you have good vendors and you treat them well, they will take care of you!
