Gender Reveal Ideas for Reception?

FutureMrsTramp, on July 12, 2018 at 4:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
I will be nearly 6 months pregnant with baby #2 at the wedding, (super excited!) and had the idea of maybe doing a gender reveal at the wedding!?

I was thinking of maybe doing a balloon and confetti type of deal or having the wedding party holding
balloons and popping them! Any other ideas?

I’m also conflicted between doing the reveal at our outdoor or indoor reception.

Congratulations! That's so exciting! I think those are great ideas. I've seen a few posts like this, but the OP said they weren't sure if they wanted to do it and take away from the "wedding feel," but if everyone already knows you're pregnant, I'd do it! I think it would add a special touch and you'd have awesome pictures to look back on!

Love your idea of your wedding party popping the balloons as it involves some of your most important people.

    Good luck and congratulations!

Maybe the inside of your wedding cake could be pink or blue? Then when you cut into it, it'd be double the fun! And it wouldn't take away from vows, speeches, parent dances, etc. It would be after dinner but before dancing too!

    So much fun!!

You could also do the gender reveal cake idea but with your beautiful wedding cake!

OR if you are doing a garter toss, you could have one of your bridal party members get a garter that's either blue or pink and you can put it on without seeing it, and when you do the garter toss you'll both find out by the color of the garter.

The latter is kinda dumb but it could be cute Smiley xd

FutureMrsTramp--CONGRATS! On both your engagement and your pregnancy! We're so excited to have you here at WeddingWire!

Oh my gosh what an adorable idea! I think because you'll be so far along this is a great way to bring attention to and incorporate you welcoming a new baby into the family on an already special day!

LOVE the cake idea! Since that's already a typical event, it just combines two things into one, plus you don't have to worry about the clean up of the confetti! If you do decide to go with the confetti, I would recommend doing it inside so that you are not littering! Smiley smile

Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?

Congrats! I've seen that couples do a fog/smoke type machine at the end of their ceremony as the walk back down the aisle together out toward the reception. Then the smoke is either blue or pink 😊

Congratulations! How exciting! I really like the colored cake idea that someone else mentioned. I also think it would be fun to have colored (eco-friendly) confetti for your guests to toss during your recessional or your entrance into the ceremony.

Congratulations. And I love the idea of colored smoke bombs. They can make for great photos. We are doing smoke bombs for picture purposes at our wedding, but not expecting. Good luck.
