Gazebo and venue layout

Tara, on December 20, 2019 at 8:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
The layout for my wedding venue with gazebo is a little unusual... I’m going to try and explain the best I can and I’m looking for advice. 1. Where should I sit guests? 2. Where should we walk “down the isle?” ? 3. Should we stand inside the gazebo for the ceremony or outside of it?- The gazebo entrance is near the building with a walkway. Gazebo and venue layout 1

For gazebo layouts I usually see the officiant at the entrance of gazebo inside and the couple get married at the entrance outside of the gazebo. A lot of people get an arch as well.

Do you think it would look... unusual with our entrance having that long ramp?

Also, where would guest sit? With the layout there is not a lot of space near the entrance for chairs?

Do you have enough room to encircle the gazebo?

Not sure if I’m getting a true idea of the dimensions of the gazebo. How many guests?

That would work on the front side (the second photo of mine).. probably not at the entrance

100 guests. The gazebo is not huge .. but can comfortably fit 5 people I’d say to stand in it

Two ideas came to mind (So I tried to “draw” because it was easier to explain...Lol!)

1.) You, FH and officiant stand at the entrance to the gazebo ramp and use the gazebo as a backdrop with flowers around it. Bridesmaids/groomsmen on the sides of you in the grass. Then guest chairs would be on the grass. But I don’t how the walkway is getting to the gazebo. So there might be an uneven amount of chairs on one side than the other. But that’s still fine. 2.) You, FH and officiant stand inside of the gazebo. You walk down the aisle and around to the ramp area and go inside, while your bridal party lines up in front of the diagonal bushes outside of the gazebo. I think the one downfall to that is half of your bodies are blocked by the railing. But you’re still visible and the main focal point because you’re up higher. Gazebo and venue layout 6

Great ideas and I love the drawings!! 💚 The walkway to the gazebo comes out of the doors of the building that lead to the hall. So that walk would be easy, but like you said the chairs would be uneven (oh well). For option 2, my only concern is that to walk down the isle.. we would be coming out from a field essentially. It would be a long walk all the way around the chairs to the back of the isle, but still manageable. Would it be silly if we sat guest like option 2, but walked down the cement walkway to the gazebo.. instead of down the isle?! I’m not opposed to not walking “down the isle” per se, but I’m afraid it might be unusual for guests?

Gotcha regarding the entrance from a field. No, that doesn’t sound doable. Entering from the building would be the better choice, logistically. Then you can go down the aisle at the end of the ceremony and pass by your guests at that time (and then back to the building).

I agree that entering from the building would be best! I never thought about going down the aisle at the end of the ceremony. I love that idea! We could exit the gazebo and walk around to the front before the officiant announces us

Yep! You can also do your kiss in front of the gazebo (good for pics). Then exit after he pronounces you... that makes it easy for your bridal party to begin exiting once you and FH get all the way down the aisle.

Sounds like it will work out nicely... congrats!

Be sure to inform your photographer/videographer about the ceremony plans so that they know where to be and when.

Thank you! I will tell the photographer! She plans on visiting the venue beforehand anyway to get an idea.

From the look of the gazebo and where that ramp goes, it is definitely not large enough to use for the wedding guests seating with you guys standing at the entrance aka ramp. I would just use it as a backdrop and set the ceremony up on the grounds off to the side of it. You can use the inside of the gazebo for wedding photos.

Yeah I’ve been thinking more and more about doing that. We will just have to figure out how to walk there which should be pretty easy
