Garter toss

What do you guys think about the garter removal/toss? My fiancee wants to dance to Pony by ginuwine to remove it but isn't that kinda awkward dancing in front of people? I'm just trying to see what other peoples opinions are? Are u leaving it out in ur wedding or doing it?

    Skipping it. We both feel uncomfortable about the idea

    The garter thing makes me uncomfortable anyway, but lets take a look at those lyrics:

    I'm just a bachelor

    I'm looking for a partner

    Someone who knows how to ride

    Without even falling off

    Gotta be compatible

    Takes me to my limits

    Girl when I break you off

    I promise that you won't want to get off

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    Sitting here flossing

    Peepin' your steelo

    Just once if I have the chance

    The things I would do to you

    You and your body

    Every single portion

    Send chills up and down your spine

    Juice flowing down your thigh

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If we're gonna get nasty baby

    First we'll show and tell

    Till' I reach your pony tail, oh

    Lurk all over and through you baby

    Until we reach the stream

    You'll be on my jockey team, oh

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    If you're horny lets do it, ride it, my pony

    My saddle's waiting, come and jump on it

    Ride it, saddles

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    So to review:
    He's talking about your riding him naked (aka having sex), without falling off
    Then talking about getting you off
    Saying he's horny, let's do it
    His **** is waiting, jump on it
    Then goes onto talk about your "juices" flowing down your thigh
    *Repeat the above again*
    Talks about getting nasty
    I think that's enough.... do YOU really want your mom, dad, grandma, aunts, possibly children hear that?! WHILE your husband is UP your dress??
    We're happily passing on this tradition.
    We are skipping it for all of the reasons above - so uncomfortable - but both of our parents were surprised because they thought it was a perfectly fine tradition... which I thought was kind of funny. Is our generation more prude than our parents?
    He wants to *dance* to a song about sex, while removing an item of clothing from underneath your dress, in front of grandma? There are ways to do a classy garter toss, but that sounds more suited for the bachelorette. Or maybe the honeymoon.
    My FH and I have decided to do an anniversary dance in lieu of the garter and bouquet tosses. We both feel the garter toss is a bit awkward as well and want to honor all the married couples. It will start with everyone on the dance floor. Our DJ will play a slow dance song where it will be kind of like a dance-off ("if you’ve been married for 2 years or less, please leave the floor" – and so on and so on...., until the couple who has been married the longest are the only ones left. They will then be the ones to recieve my bouquet.
    We are doing it and the bouquet toss. However we aren't going to do "donning of the garter"
    I hate garter tosses and I would be mortified if I attended a wedding that had that song playing for one.
    Skipping it. As a guest I'm always amused by it but not in a good way if you know what I mean?
    There's a lot of people on here that don't like it, but we did it and it was fine. He didn't strip, we didn't make it sexual, and honestly I find it more funny than cringe-worthy. It's totally your personal preference!
    ETA - We used Why Can't This Be Love by Van Halen for the song, so again, not raunchy.
    I still don't know why, but my husband was excited about this part and picked the song. He did Oh Yeah from Ferris Bueller. I've never seen him dance like that before. He was really into it. Lol.
    We are doing it but I don't know about that song. It's pretty sexy. You know your crowd better than I do.
    We're doing it, and probably to that song! It's just meant to be a funny break from a formal event. Like someone else said, we'll be tipsy/drunk by that point and I'm sure guests will be entertained lol.
