Fun wedding ideas/activities

Stefanie, on October 28, 2019 at 5:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hey! So I was reading the forum and saw one bride is having a caricaturist at her wedding and I loved the idea! But my FH is not completely sure he likes it. I want to have something different and fun. Is there anything you’re doing or already did for your wedding? Please let me know! Any idea counts

Caricaturists are fun and definitely unique, but they can usually only do a small number of drawings in one night. I would rather do something like a photo booth that all guests get to enjoy instead of just a small percentage.

It's a cute idea, but I feel like it might cause some discord if some people don't get to enjoy it or it might be a topic of 'Well, I wanted to, but... they left/were too busy/etc". Photobooth, for sure, if you'd like a cute little memento for people. Everyone can enjoy that. I agree with PP that they can only do a limited number of guests, while something like a PB -- simple and quick. Plus, it can be a wedding favor if they print out photos right then and there.

A friend of mine had a photographer do photos with a green screen and then we were able to choose our backgrounds and then they printed them off right there. It was really neat. But I read the comments before mine and I'm having a caricature artist at my reception and he and his assistant told me that with my guestlist of 200 that he could fit everyone in within 4 hours. It only takes 2-4 minutes per drawing. He was doing the drawings for the bridal show that I went to and his pictures were awesome and he moved quickly (he's been doing it for 24 years).

My wedding is not that big (around 75 people) and they told me I could have just one, I want something that we can both agree on

Our reception is outside and there is a grassy area and a fire pit. I am making cornhole boards and renting a giant Jenga game for guests to play. And I also plan to have s'mores stuff for people to make s'mores and roast marshmallows.

I've heard of people doing dueling pianos during cocktail hour. Guests can request songs and the pianist will play them together and get the guests involved for some songs. Plus, the guests will be more focused on that than feeling like they're just waiting while you do pictures!
