From boyfriend to fiance to husband

Did anyone struggle sometimes or slip up a lot in the beginning of your engagement and say boyfriend still and then even after being married sometimes say fiance still or did it all come naturally?

Nope always adjusted pretty quickly, even with my own name change as well.

I feel a little posh saying fiance multiple times in a sentence, so I usually stick with his name. Haha.

I still call him my boyfriend just because I hate the word fiance. It honestly just grosses me out. Like the word moist.

Ugh @Coco we are in a very similar situation. Except my friends and immediately family know that we are engaged, but I still haven't told my extended family on my mom's side.

It's mainly because my grandmother. She hasn't even met FH (she lives states away and it just hasn't been possible for him to visit with me yet), but she act like she hates him. When speaking to my mother she calls him my "little friend." And she tells my mother she's afraid that I will run off with my "little friend," and move to Mexico.

She got upset with me because I changed my profile picture on FB to a picture of both FH and I, instead of one with just me.

Sighhh....my mom keeps telling me to just wait on telling her about the engagement. I'm just afraid that word will somehow get out and she will be even more upset that I didn't say anything. But if I do say something then I have to worry what rude comments she will make about him, despite the fact that she has no reason to dislike him. The rest of my family and friends all love him and have nothing bad to say, but somehow she's decided that he's not good enough.

We also don't have a very fancy engagement story, and I have a cheap ring that he wants to replace with something nicer, but I'd prefer to use the money on something more practical.

    Blah. Sorry about the rant.

In relation to the original post, I've only slipped a few times, but I have to remind FH more often, haha. He accidentally calls me his girlfriend every few days. But then again he also sometimes calls me his wife, and I have to say "not yet!" Hah.

I find fiance so weird to say. I'd just like to just skip from boyfriend to husband.

@1Sooner Mine too! She will talk to all my family members saying "her little friend" or "THE little friend" She has met him and he's been nothing but kind and very sweet. Most of my friends and family love him and all of them have nothing bad to say, if they do it only deals with they feel he is just unworthy in some way. Some people, huh? I stand with you, my sister, in our grandmothers unprecedented deep dislike.

And just recently my FH has been calling me girlfriend a few times on accident. It is funny to see him catch it,
