Friend has same Wedding Dress

Nope. The problem with wedding dresses is they're rarely one of a kind. You both fell in love with the same dress -- your weddings will be completely different and the look/feel/hair/makeup and accessories will completely differentiate it.

This dress is gorgeous! Almost no one remembers the bride's dress. If it bothers you, is it possible to add an embellishment to the front to make yours different?

Eta: the accessories that you pair with it will set you apart as well. Maybe a lovely necklace with ornate earrings?

That's a bummer that she has the same dress, but I still think it's gorgeous! You look amazing in it and I love how unique it is! I wouldn't care. You should still wear it, it looks beautiful! If I attended both weddings I would never compare you two.

My sister-in-law managed to accidentally throw out her wedding dress (don't ask!), and bought a white sundress the day before the wedding. I was at that wedding, and had no idea until she told me years later. Seriously, people will notice how it flatters you, not compare it to someone else's dress.

And so do you! Your dress will fit better when it's been altered. You're being unfair to yourself by comparing another bride to you. You have time to make your dress your own.

It definitely sucks but honestly people don't remember the dress except from pictures. I would worry about it because your dress is gorgeous!!

I'm guessing she already had her wedding? If so, yours is just shy of a year away, most people probably won't even remember what she wore by then.

Personally I would only be a bit bothered if a close friend had the same dress and we were going to each others weddings but like someone mentioned we all have different bodies, we will all have different hair and makeup and it shouldn't really matter what some other girl is wearing! That dress is so lovely theres bound to be a few brides with the same one you just don't know about them

^^ What Future said. If it was the same dress two weeks apart I might be sad about it, but a year is nothing. Plus if you saw me in my dress, and the model in it, they don't look like the same dress. By the time you get married nobody will remember.

I get it though. I like to pretend that my dress is MY dress, and my ring is MY ring. Weird if I see someone in something similar...but it just goes to show you have good taste, right?

Thank y'all! I guess it's just a little shocking. I think everyone believes that they won't actually know someone that has their exact dress. Yea her wedding was tonight, mine is a year from now!

I think if it wasn't such a different dress, it wouldn't have shocked me! You could add a belt and it would change the look. I just can't do much to mine!

Kind of a bummer, I would be myself too. But really, I don't think many people will remember by the time of your wedding and both of you look gorg in it, so don't stress!

I have the same dress as one of my BMs. Not really worried about it. We both look completely different in the dress. We were comparing them and laughing about it. She went with me to the salon and when I came out in the dress she still gasped and loved it on me. It's just ironic that we have the same dress. She got married in January.

I'd be a little bummed too, but I guarantee that they won't remember that you wore the same dress. Also I bet you'll even forget about her having the same dress!

I understand why you'd be bummed, but honestly.... no one will remember by the time your wedding comes around Plus the same dress can look very different on different people. Certain lines will hit at different places, and plus, its the whole package - hair, makeup, veil.

You are going to look STUNNING and I highly doubt people will be comparing the 2 of you
