HOWEVER, this last episode featured a bride that had the Carolina vs Florida game on the TVs at the wedding. I know this was filmed last November, and that was a home game. Don't show your gamecock hand gesture if you are dumb enough to get married during a SEC home game. No, you're not a "huge" fan. You picked a date that you loved and compromised when your husband reminded you it was a big home game.

This is when we need the article that KM shared with me. And this is why you choose something besides a Saturday if you want to get married in the fall (In the South). #sorrynotsorry

In other news, five days!

When you plan a wedding, you keep your guests in mind while also thinking of your budget.

All the football loving brides know their guests would prefer the wedding to not conflict with not just a sport but their lifestyle.

If I had my wedding during deer hunting season, NONE of my mom's side would have come. They get those few weekends a year to do something they love, and they damn make sure they get to.

These college football loving brides got to appease their guests while most likely saving some money by booking a Friday wedding. I booked my Friday wedding because I know my guests love to party and appreciate 2 days of recovery time. And guess what? Out of 136 invited people, we had 121 people there at 6 pm in Philadelphia from 2 countries and 11 different states.

Tick tock GameCox. Excited for you Smiley smile

And as far as the initial topic, I saw the episode yesterday (I DVR'd it) and I can see your point. Our guests weren't really big sports fans, but I can see how, if they were, that it would be taking a chance that no one would show up, or they would leave early if we had our vow renewal on a big sports day. Anywho, to each his/her own Smiley smile

I have to agree with and fully understand where Gamecox and KM are coming from, except we revolve around baseball. Between those who play and those who are big big fans (college and pro), a lot of people would have missed. Good thing we didn't plan it for October, or all the Dodger fans would be happily declining...oh yeah, which is all our groomsmen.

Harris, we planned around baseball and football season. Luckily we don't have any basketball fan friends

I do not think it is bad to think of guests and consider potential conflicts no matter how menial or ridiculous I or FH might think they are.

We did not have a Sunday wedding because so many people will be traveling - we could have saved $2K on our venue if we had gone with a Sunday wedding but it was important to accommodate our guests. Also, the Colts will likely play a home game on a Sunday and at least 30 people on our guest list are season ticket holders. FH and I are season ticket holders for a hockey team but us eating $36 for our two seats is not the same as asking some guests to eat $400 for their two seats. WE STILL HAVE AN ISSUE however because FFIL and FH's uncle are farmers and they will probably be harvesting on that Saturday. Honestly, I doubt FH's uncle will show up because of this - it will hurt FH if this happens but I understand it.

I know that I am always pissed if I *have* to go to a wedding over a holiday weekend. Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, New Years - I freaking hate it.

Ha ha.. This reminds me of when we chose our original wedding date of October 26, 2013 and my mom replied with "You know Louisville plays that day, right" I was like.. Great. Needless to say, that definitely was one of the reasons we changed our date. My brother played ball there, so needless to say football is huge in our family. I completely understand.

I didn't even think about this when choosing a date lol. It definitely comes up. H is a huge Orioles fan and they are in the playoffs this year. We are going to a wedding on Saturday. Thankfully, the Orioles aren't playing Saturday night. Otherwise I'm sure H would have found a way to either sneak out early or would be checking his phone non-stop.
