SOOO. I'm trying to find a beautiful venue within our budget and we came across the fact that if we did it Friday night we would get a better rate. What do people really think of Friday night Weddings?

We're doing a Friday wedding and so far I haven't heard any complaints from VIPs. The money saved for us doing it on a Friday vs Saturday (about $3,000) is totally worth it.

We do Fridays' every week. Not a significant amount of declines.

I prefer them to Sundays, but still think Saturday is best. If your guest list is mostly local, and you're willing to start relatively late (like 7:30 or 8), I think it can work well.

I'm having a Friday night wedding in a city 2 hours away from where I live. If people can't take 1 day off of work then don't come. No one has said that Friday will be a problem for them.

I went to 2 friday and 1 sunday weddings this year. Sunday wasn't my cup of tea, but still very nice. I loved the friday set up. I was a saturday stickler but having sat/sun after the weddings was awesome. I have changed my opinion 100%, i sort of regret not doing it sometimes.

Friday's are fine. 1 day off of work no biggie. Just don't do a Monday-Thursday then it's inconvenient AF for people to take days off.

We just went to one a week ago. It was out of town so we had to travel mid week, but it works out well with DH's schedule. It was nice to have Saturday to relax.

We're having ours the Friday after Labor Day and haven't heard any complaints and so far have just under half of our guest list attending (still two weeks to respond). I never wanted a big wedding so I'll be happy regardless of attendance!

We did save about $500 on the venue and although there may not have been savings with other vendors, we didn't have a problem with availability anywhere.

I like Friday weddings as long as they are in the evening

If you have a 5 or 6pm ceremony its a great idea to save money. if you want an earlier one, it is hard to expect people to leave work super early or take a day off to get ready and come. many people will show up late (whether intentional or because they couldnt get out) or not come at all. most immediate family and close friends will make it work no matter when it is, and thats whats important

Personally, I'd be fine with a Friday late afternoon/evening or Sunday morning/afternoon wedding. Any other weekday evening would be fine too, if it was a local wedding...I'd just probably leave by 9 to get to work the next day.

Friday wedding too! It's a holiday weekend, people will already be taking off.

I like Friday weddings over Sunday weddings.

My brother recently was in a Thursday wedding.

We are doing a Friday DW. Most of our crew is making a long weekend or even a vacation out of it.

Mine is on a Friday. We're doing it on Veterans Day observed so most people have it off, 11/10/17. But send the save the dates and your guest can plan on taking the day or working a half day.

Ask to pay cash to your vendors and you'll always get money off!! Each vendor saved about 15% off the cost.

My venue charges the same rate all year long no matter the season. Try and look for a place like that so you don't have to worry about the guest who wouldn't be able to make it or who would come late on Friday.

I personally prefer Friday weddings as I have a fun night after work, then I have the rest of the weekend to relax or have other plans until I have to go back to work Monday. Smiley smile
