Friday weddings?

My wedding will be on a friday but later in the day. We havent decided on an exact time but it will be around 5-7pm. Everyone we have talked to said they will make it they just have to notify their job.

Our wedding was on a Friday and we did not have any declines due to it being a Friday night.

We are getting married on a Friday. Our ceremony will start at 5 p.m. So we understand that not everyone may be able to make it. But most of our guests are OOT so they are flying in either Thursday night or Friday morning.

My wedding ceremony starts at 3:30pm (its at a Catholic church and school gets out at 3 so we can't have it earlier) I'm leaving the bridal party and close family to attend the ceremony. Honestly, I'd have to put faith my peoples will take a half day at work or take off entirely. They are well aware now as my STD's were sent out already so they know when the day is.

The reception is at 6:30pm cocktail hour starts. So people should be out of work by that time.

We're getting married on a Friday. We checked with our VIPs first to make sure they were okay with it since it's OOT from everyone.

Mine is a Friday wedding and I'm so happy about it! It's working out really well based on the feedback I'm getting. My ceremony is 4-4:30, cocktail hour 6-7, reception 7-11. It's perfect!

We had a Friday wedding and I think it worked out ok. We had our ceremony later in the day so that guests wouldn't need to take off the whole day. Everyone who RSVPd yes attended. Always assume that everyone invited is coming.

We are getting married on a Friday night and it hasn't been an issue for anyone. Our ceremony starts at 6pm so most of the guests we have that work are off before then. Or others have made arrangements to get the day off and are excited for a long weekend!

We had a friday wedding. We didn't have anyone not come because of it being friday. Our start time was at 6pm and went until 12:30am.

Everyone was very thankful the next day, waking up and it was only Saturday.

We do Friday weddings literally every weekend. It is never an issue.

Just be prepared to start on time regardless of who is there.

I'm getting married on a Friday, with the ceremony starting at 6pm. Most guests are OOT and will have to fly in early or are local (30 minute drive to venue), so I'm not too concerned. VIPs are really excited and are totally okay with it being on a Friday. The price difference of booking the venue on a Friday vs Saturday was totally worth it.

I did. 6pm to 1am. I had no issues

Our wedding is on a Friday as well. It works because it's just our closest family and friends (22 people including FH and I) our wedding is later in the evening 6pm and then we are having our reception at an upscale restaurant in one of their private rooms.

I think Friday's are definitely doable you just have to be realistic with your guest list and know that not everyone will make it. You also have to consider timing, later in the evening will always work in your favor.

This summer I've been to 2 Friday weddings and 1 Sunday wedding. I loved the Friday's because I still had Saturday and Sunday for myself.

My wedding is a Friday- almost everyone on my side is able to make it and alot of them have to drive 2-3 hours too. Def. doable everyone who wanted to take off work, did.

We started our ceremony at 5. From what I could tell, the vast majority of our guests made it to both the ceremony and reception.

Like Celia said, you do have to be prepared to start on time regardless of who's there. We started exactly at 5 and had people have to wait in the lobby until our processional was done.

We only had 1 decline because it was a Friday night and thats because they were coming from 3 hours away. I dont mind Friday weddings as long as they start after 530

We are. We invited 127 and 87 are attending. I attribute about 20 of those declines to out of state guests who couldn't make it on a Friday. We'll be starting on time regardless of who is there.
