Friday Wedding Timeline?

Hannah, on March 13, 2018 at 10:47 AM Posted in Planning 1 11
So I contacted the only venue I’ve been drawn to, and asked about dates they have available, and they only gave me friday’s for next year. Has anyone here had a friday wedding, and how was the timeline for it?

We had a Friday wedding but it was a DW. Pre ceremony cocktails at 5, ceremony at 5:30, cocktail 6-7 and reception from 7-11.

I had a Friday wedding, as did my sister and a lot of my friends. It's totally normal and acceptable. We had an invite time of 5pm, ceremony 5:30-6, cocktail hour 6-7, reception 7-11.

We are planning a Friday wedding too. It is pretty much the same timeline as LB but we are not having Pre Ceremony cocktails. Other then that the timeline is the same as LB.

This is also how we decided on doing a first look. So we won't lose light and so we can be with our guest more!

We are having a Friday wedding. Starting ceremony at 6 to give some wiggle room for Friday rush hour. Then happy hour from 6:30-7:30 and dinner and reception after that.

We are also having a Friday wedding. Ceremony at 6, cocktails from 6:30-7:30, reception from 7:30-11:30.

My day is starting at 10 am with my hair appointment, makeup at noon, photographer by 2:30, and we're getting to the venue by 4 pm for first look/photos.

Our wedding is on a Friday in just over a month. The schedule is: Ceremony 6:30pm, Cocktail Hour 7:00pm, Reception 8:00pm-12:00am.

We haven't had an issue with anyone as far as the time is concerned.

Ours is on Saturday but I've been to a bunch of Friday weddings and they are fine. Similar time frame to the ones discussed above. It's nice to have the extra day over the weekend to travel/ recover too.

Due to our venue being in the middle of heavy rush hour traffic, and so people don't have to leave work early, we are starting ceremony at 6 pm. Cocktails at 7 pm and dinner begins at 8. Reception goes until midnight. If we started the ceremony any earlier I'd bet some people wouldn't come.
