Friday wedding 4 dream venue

Brandon, on June 27, 2020 at 12:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
So though my partner and I have put a deposit on a venue we truly loved to secure our date we eventually sat and decided to look some more just in case we had missed out on something....and did we! We found one that is so close to our dream venue that we really needed no reason to continue looking around but there is one HUGE FLAW. Due to COVID wedding were pushed back to next year and all Saturdays of next year are taken(our date is a Saturday). This is becoming so frustrating at this point lol...ladies I need your help!

You could do a wedding earlier in the day if anything like lunchtime

We did a Sunday wedding and it was awesome. Many people didn’t have to take off any work bc we stopped at 8pm and they could still get home. Some took Monday off whereas they would have taken Friday off for a Saturday wedding so it was the same. I’ve only been to one Friday wedding, but most people missed the ceremony bc of work or traffic and then left early because they were so tired from working all day. So either way I think people will have to take off to really enjoy the wedding.

I think Friday could still work. Maybe some people will take the day off or leave work early depending on what time your event is and how long it would last. Especially if your date is already a Saturday because most, if not all, are off work, I don't see Friday being an issue. If you really want to make that change to get as close as possible dream venue, whoever you invite will find a way to be there and quite honestly that's with any given day. Good luck!

I've been to countless Friday weddings and they were just as much fun (with 90-100% attendance) as a Saturday wedding. It gives people something to kick off the weekend with and those who want to be there will make it happen.

You will have people stay longer on Friday night and be in more of a party mood than a Sunday when folks leave early to prepare for work the next day.

    LOVE me a Friday wedding!!!

If it’s far away— I’m probably already taking the day off to travel. If it’s local— cool! I don’t have to use the time off! I can work and maybe sneak out early to get dolled up and then go (**so I’d just consider timing to make sure it is reasonable to get to after work [ie 6:30? Cool! 4:30? Tough])
Then I can stay up and party and have a great time and I still have the WHOLE weekend ahead of me! Haha it’s amazing, I always feel like I get a bonus weekend day after a Friday night wedding

My wedding is a Friday wedding and nobody seemed to have a problem with it! Originally I had close to 200 guests, we’re now doing a micro wedding because of COVID but I’m still happy we chose Friday. And we got first pick to a lot of vendors because many weren’t booked on a Friday!

We are doing a Friday night! Saved a ton on costs all around too! We are doing a private ceremony so the time matters less but our reception (250 ppl) is at 7:30pm. We are also doing adults only because 1) paying for all of the children was not in budget 2) if all of our friends brought all of their kids we would be at 600 or more, 3) we asked our friends and they all planned to get a sitter and make it a date night! We really wanted a party vibe for our celebration so Friday night was the perfect fit!

I would opt for Friday if you want a late night/party vibe or Sunday if you schedule earlier in the afternoon.

Friday isn't bad at all! We're doing Sunday and no one has had an issue with it so far.

You can't take one day off work for your wedding? We had to move ours to a Sunday and we all just took off Monday.
