Friday Evening Wedding

Can Seventh Day Adventists do anything on Friday after dusk? Doesn't that start the Sabbath? Maybe Sunday wedding. Talk to him first and see what his thoughts are. Maybe they'll be ok for one night, especially if you spin it correctly.

Well, I did one tonight; the attendance was almost 100%, the bridal party was done with photos when I got there at 5:30 and we started at 6:30 on the dot. I wouldn't worry about so much as their inflexibility to go to their own child's wedding because their (human constructed) religion tells them they can't.

@laurenb That's what I thought. The church he came from is really a rare case because there also apostolic. Yeah I will do that. Thanks girl!

I would much rather attend a Friday night wedding than a Sunday wedding unless it's a brunch wedding/reception.

@janellM you're so welcome girl. That's a first to me. Never heard of apostolic Seventh Day Adventists. Friday and Sunday weddings do have good attendance. If you do the Sunday before a holiday that may appease your concerns.

@LaurenB When I met him it was definitely a first for me too. I'm seeing that Friday evening weddings are popular. That might be a good idea to think about too

My wedding is on a Friday! It's becoming much more common. Don't worry about others and pick the day that will allow them to be there, whether that's Friday or Sunday, if it's important to you.

Friday is the new Saturday.

We are seventh day adventists too. Our wedding is Sunday evening and we have more guests RSVP than we even anticipated to be the max. People who care to be there will find a way

Mine will be on a Friday and I attended two Friday weddings last year. I personally enjoyed having an excuse to take a day off of work.
