I was also thinking about doing something vintage because of my dress too but nothing crazy. I still want to continue my natural journey. I guess I'll just have to slap some shine in it and hope for the best for our engagement shoot next week but luckily I have time before the big day.

I'm pretty terrible at sticking with a routine. Honestly, I don't even think I have the curling product which kind of defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do.

I like the headband idea for your engagement shoot! It would also work well for your wedding, but if you want an alternative, my mom grew her hair out a bit so she could get extensions. She's getting knotless box braids and having them put into an updo.

Love the headband idea! I’m also natural, and as others have said your hair will grow a lot. Wait to see what the length is closer to the date and then do some trials with the hairstylist (if you’re hiring one). I’ve also seen some beautiful head wraps at weddings. If you want some added length, maybe natural hair extensions or braids and doing a braided bun or something.

View Quoted Comment Oh girl no don’t use Cantu lol sheamoisture might do better but honestly don’t just stick to one line of product ! I personally love Camilla Rose products and Mane choice products and I wash my hair with conditioner, you don’t need to shampoo all the time.


I also think for your wedding you would look really good in a flower crown. That way you don’t have to focus on your hair so much because the attention is on your face and the crown. Depending if that works with your dress of course !

View Quoted Comment It can feel overwhelming at times but find that routine. I wash my hair every week (unless it’s in braids then I get lazy lol) but I don’t use shampoo on my hair. I use cleanser. Also I know some naturals did a protective style on the their wedding day or for engagement photos. I’m think of doing it for my engagement photos.

Oh you can definitely get those curls popping today! what hair products do you normally use? after you wash your hair and it soaking wet, apply your gel or styling product and smooth it into your hair. you can than smooth and twirl little curls around your finger or use a comb to help separate your curls. let air dry and boom you're done. when its dry you can add your head band or whatever hair accessories.

and as far as makeup are you wanting to go fresh faced or do you want make up. if you want makeup but don't want hire an artists i would keep it simple with just some mascara and lip gloss/ tinted lip balm.
