Food wedding favors?

Futuremrsm, on July 25, 2019 at 9:14 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
So we are having a Halloween wedding, and when I was researching wedding favors, I came across this these cute little s'mores kits! I figured since it was fall and Halloween that they were perfect. My only concern is that we would have to make these for around 140 people, so it's not something that can be done the week before. But if I do them do early the crackers and marshmallows may go stale. Did anyone else have edible flavors, and if so when did you assemble them?

That is so cute. I think you could make them the night before? Or maybe if you make them a bit earlier you can store them in something air tight?

My FH's grandmother is making her homemade strawberry jelly as one of our favors (we're having 3 kinds of favors). She started making the jelly a month or two ago and has been freezing it all until the wedding. I'm not sure about the graham crackers and marshmallows, but you could at least put all the chocolate in the bags and freeze them ahead of time! That may save some time in case you need to do the rest the week of.

I would make them the week of and put them in an air tight storage container, packaging and all, so they don't go stale.

Honestly? I would have everything for this set up in an assembly line-style station, and have someone or multiple people help assemble these at the last minute. You don't have to do everything yourself! I keep having to be reminded of that myself lol. Ask around and see who could lend 30-45 minutes to this in the day or two before the wedding to help you out. You can buy a 6-pack to share while you do it as thanks or something.

The favors for daughter's wedding were chocolate chip cookies. We didn't bag them until Thursday afternoon (the rehearsal was that night, so we wanted to given them to the venue coordinator) for a Saturday wedding. Honestly? Assembling those 100 favors in a 2 hr time frame on the afternoon of the rehearsal was probably the most stressful part of the entire wedding planning/prep. It's the one thing I wish we had done differently. I love the ghost s'mores, but think thru the timing and available labor. If there is someone who isn't really involved in the wedding who would be willing to do it, let them!
