Food trucks for wedding.

Cornell, on March 1, 2021 at 10:36 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Good morning my FH and myself are trying to look into all options for food. Has anyone been to a wedding with food trucks and what was their experience. Was there enough food? Where lines extremely long, Did you have enough time to eat? Was it too casual for your liking?

Thanks!

I've been to a wedding with a food truck. It actually went very smoothly. Each table was called one at a time to go to the truck. They had 2 meal options that you could choose from once you got up to order. The food was already prepared, and they were still cooking while tables were being dismissed. I did not wait any longer than I would have in a buffet line. I also thought it was more sanitary and my food was hot! I really liked it.

It wasn't a wedding, but a birthday party with about 80 people at it. They did a pizza food truck and it was very organized. They set up tables so that it was like a buffet and called people up by table, so there weren't any crazy lines. I thought it was delicious and wouldn't mind a food truck at a wedding. My mom is doing a food truck for her wedding and I think it'll be really fun.

I think this would depend on the vibe of your wedding that you're going for, and your food truck to guest ratio. I'd say that you'd probably need one food truck for every fifty guests. I think food trucks would work very well for a casual backyard wedding! But you'd need enough so that guests wouldn't be waiting around too long in long lines to get their food

Food trucks are not designed for catering. They take forever, even the ones who have been in business 25 years that you see at festivals and state fair where the line goes on forever.

Casual is moot. They do not feed people at the same time so one group will finishing while another hasn't even gotten up to get their food yet.

    I agree with this.
I would not be excited about food trucks at a wedding. Maybe for snacks or extra dessert options but not for the main meal.

I went to a wedding with a wood fired pizza food truck. The they had appetizers and multiple different types of pizza. There was plenty of food and they got everyone through the line much quicker than expected (definitely faster than waiting for a buffet). Before going to the wedding I definitely had my doubts about the truck but it was fantastic. So much better than your standard chicken/fish/steak wedding food
