Flower/tulle backdrop Help!

cupcakecardinal, on October 18, 2017 at 6:51 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

I've been working on my flower backdrop (inspo pic in comments) and I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and has some advice for me. Here is what I have so far. I am planning on making more purple flowers and rearranging them so the non purple flowers are mixed in better with the purple ones. My colors are purple and gold. Then I'm going to glue the flowers to the poster board and zip tie the board to my pvc that has tulle, lights, and curtains on it. Am I missing a better way to do this? How is it looking so far? I haven't been able to find a great guide on the internet. My backdrop will be 7' tall by 8' wide. TIA!

It looks great so far! I would definitely mix the flowers up a little more so that it's not so purple-heavy on one side. To make it a little more cohesive, I would pick 3-4 colors for the flowers and stick with that vs 8-10 different colors, unless you want more of like a wildflower look to it. That will help it not look too busy, and will coordinate better with your color scheme

I like the different colors, but I agree they need to be mixed up more. Plus I'm still making more purple flowers so it should get even more purple

The colors need to be mixed up more and I think you need more of different sizes. The inspo pic has some small to large and yours look all about the same size.

Also they have different types of flowers on the inspo pic.

Hard to tell from the pic, but I've got some different sizes. I decided I was just going to stick with one design

I love those! Just a word of advice. If you haven't thought of it already, make sure it's anchored or weighted down at the bottom. We made a similar backdrop for my sister's wedding behind her sweetheart table and the dang thing fell over mid Best Man speech LOL

I actually think the one side being purple heavy works. It looks good.
