FLOWERS! Are y’all using real or fake? Or a mixture of both? We have considered doing fake bouquets (so we can keep them) and real for decor. Or should we do all real or all fake?

We're doing all fake. I couldn't justify the cost for the real ones, would rather spend the money on something else.

I’m doing real, but limiting the amount. Bridal bouquet 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 6 boutonnières, 2 pin on corsages, and 2 wrist corsages. I’m getting mine from Enjoy Flowers .com and I went with their Purity bunch with burgundy ribboning

We are doing all real flowers for the bridal party, centerpieces and other tables (cake, entrance, gift, etc.) but I think we are going to do fake for the pew decor and the gazebo/aisle entrance to minimize some of the set up. We are ordering all our flowers through Kukkas. We have friends who have used them and they had a wonderful experience!

I am planning on doing a mix as well! I have always wanted to keep my bouquet. I am trying to work with a local florist to help me blend the real and fake to go together. I also don't want to use too many fake because that seems like a waste of plastic to me when I could compost the real ones when they're done.

Silk flowers. Only because dahlias do not grow in December and I want to have them in my bouquet.

I will be using fresh cut flowers for my bouquet (which I hope I don't regret with my allergies!) and silk or foam florals for the rest of the decor, bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. We would like to keep some of the centerpieces for decor in our home (vintage books, bowls of flowers, etc), and we are renting a lot from our coordinator, so we can simply either return the rented ones, and let the guests who want to take them have them (I have a few aunts who I know would like one), or try to resell the ones we are purchasing. Hopefully we'll get a clearer picture of exactly what we're going to do in the 124 days we have until our big day!

That was a concern for me as well and we will be renting silk florals from our coordinator for that reason. We want to be able to reuse (or allow others to reuse after us) as much as possible. I will be using real flowers for my bouquet.

Whoa those are gorgeous! Are you going to add little crystal/diamond picks in the flower bunches? Or little pendants on the end of the crystal strands? It looks great as is, I'm just curious if you're done.

Hit up Michaels for some awesome floral sales right now. Originally I was going to go a completely artificial route with my flowers. My centerpieces are artificial from Michaels, they always have the cutest mini bouquets! If you have budget to spare, you can do what I did and ask your local grocery store about bridal/bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres. I went to CARRS safeway (they always have the best flowers) and got a bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, and 5 boutonnieres for only $300! They're florists are just as good as any other place! You can also sell your centerpieces to future brides afterwards.

I personally prefer the look and feel of real flowers. Plus I don't have the patience for another DIY project.

To keep costs down we kept it to just ceremony flowers: my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 9 boutonnieres, and 3 wrist corsages. Our local florist was able to do all that for us for $600.

Yes they may die in a day or two, but it was our choice.

We had all real and reserved arrangements for my mom, mom in law, grandma's, and others who went above and beyond. We made sure they took these home as a thank you. We had bud vases and encouraged all our guests to take them home as well to enjoy, including the containers.
It was pricey but made them count. They were a mixture of textured florals and grasses, wildflower types, and our guests still talk about them almost nine months later.

I’m doing a combo of both! Using TheFauxBouquets.com for my bridesmaids bouqs and groomsmen bouts (at least they can keep it and it’ll last forever, hah) and faux bouqs from Afloral.com for centerpieces. I have a florist doing ours and parents pieces, aisle decorations, and sweetheart backdrop. Did a lot of cost comparing and these were the most affordable options for me 😬 i hope it works out!

I really want my bouquet to be real. I've started thinking about fake bouquets for center pieces cause I have a rather elaborate vision for that. I'll probably have to do the same thing for "flower arch" (it's not exactly an arch). I can't decide on my bridesmaids bouquets though.
