What should I look for in a good florist? Is it ok to mix real and fake flowers? Any advise is appreciated! Thanks!

Totally ok to mix, and can save some money! We’re doing silk flowers for our arch (saved like $500 doing this) and then real flowers for centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnières, and for the staircase.

Things you should look for in a florist i think are:

    1. communication- how long does it take to get back to you and what verbiage do they use?
    2. artistic vision- do they have an idea of what your wants are and does it fit with their execution of it?
    3. price- we got quoted ridiculous amounts for not very much product so we waited and looked for someone with a more reasonable pricing.
    4. personality/ professionalism- i personally don’t wanna work with anyone who i don’t like working with ya know? our florist is the best and probably stay in contact after the wedding with her. You want someone who knows the lines between professionalism and being friendly.

    hope this helps!

I have been thinking about doing a mix of real and silk flowers to cut back on the cost on my bouquet. It is rather large and cascading.

My biggest piece of advice for flowers is don’t get set on a certain flower. Depending on season that flower could be harder to get driving up cost. I chose two or three flowers and my florists showed me cheaper flowers that would be easy to get. Be open.

It's fine to mix real and fake. Many people do fake for centerpieces and real for bouquets

If you really don't care - I think your best bet would be to have a budget and just go to the florist with your budget and colors and ask them to make you something that would coordinate. It will be beautiful bc they're professionals.

I think it would be okay to mix. My biggest advice is follow your potential vendors on social media to see their work each week
